Posting a WIP of this soulsov fan remix thing I have had sitting in my folders for months at this point because I saw an answered ask that fit the idea I have had for this song in my head since literally before I even started composing.
Next to Ysme’s other theme variations in the game, I thought a smoky lounge take on her theme would sound really nice, with her on vocals and Loic on piano (I even have references for a woman lying down on a piano saved for album art...). Ideally, when finished, I’d want the flute part you hear here to be either vocals (scat jazz, not lyrics) or something like the Earthbound voice soundfont to represent Ysme. Progress on the piece was slow because jazz is much harder to write than to play, as it turns out, and then I became very busy with other work. However, I will go back and finish it when the other work is finished, because it was actually Soulsov that gave me the courage to get into composition in the first place. Everything I've made up to this point is in a way, a direct product of the inspiration I got from this game, so thank you to ggdg.
