“I’m not going anywhere,” she assured him one last time before he let go and let her hug him, his mind finally going quiet.

Elian exhaled in relief as if she had been holding her breath the entire time. “Gods, I missed you.”

But all she did was look back at him and say, “You’re safe now, you can settle down.”

She tried to soothe him as much as she could and wasn't scared at all “I won’t let anybody hurt you, I know you’re scared.”

When he opened them again he was staring into a dark ocean.

Her eyes, in front of him.

And all he felt was guilt.

He tried to say it when his body stood only inches before her, but she wasn’t able to hear any of it.

All Vincent could do was close his eyes and hope.

Even if Vincent wasn't, his body was still on high alert and crept closer to her when she dropped to her knees.

“I know you said you didn’t want to see me, but it looks like you might need a little bit of help,” she said, not a hint of fear in her voice when he came even closer.

“Hi, Vincey,” she all but whispered, the soft and worried tone in her voice catching him so off guard that his form began to shrink slowly. The look in her eyes almost making him cry in relief.

And he tried to say something but none of his words were able to reach the outside.
