Violence. Intense tendencies for violence. The perfect SakuTen dynamic for me (and the only one I ever really talk abt) is Sakura coming to terms with the part of her that actually really enjoys hurting people (a part of her she was previously deeply ashamed of to the point of separating it into a Seperate Person) through Tenten, who is vocal and unashamed about itâs violent tendencies. Also Tenten just really likes sharing her favorite hobby with another person, especially since everyone around Sakura is begging Tenten to stop being a âbad influenceâ on her. Forced discovery of the self through your fucked up coworker <3
I never explore their relationship as a romantic one, but there are sometimes underlying sexual tones to their shared violence, specifically on Tentenâs side and specifically in my Vulture and Crane AU. Itâs just that Tenten and Sakura have a very unique understanding of each other, and so eventually become veryyy comfortable around each other. From the perspective of everyone (minus team gai) looking in on their dynamic, they have to be in some kind of romantic relationship, because why else would they be acting like that?

Tentenâs mask is based off of a clouded leopard, not sure how ROOT masks work but Iâve decided they follow the same rules as ANBU masks because anything else would be insanely obvious.

A core aspect of this AU is that Sakura does not approach her partnership with Vulture with the intent to fix him. Her relationship with Sasuke is still mending, and while sheâs mostly forgiven him for everything heâs done to her, their dynamic is still awkward. It doesnât help that Sakura still has a lot of bottled-up resentment towards getting placed on a team with two powerhouses. When Sakura realizes how insane her ANBU partner is, she resolves to herself to stay as emotionally distant from âhimâ as possible.
Unfortunately for her, Kakashi placed her with Tenten solely because he thought she could fix it.
Unfortunately for both of them, Tenten sees Crane blow someoneâs head up one (1) time and decides itâs going to stop at nothing to make her Worse.

Neither Tenten nor Sakura find out each otherâs identities outside of ANBU until itâs too far into their relationship for either to really care.
The first person to find out about whatever the fuck is going on with SakuTen is Rock Lee, because of course Tenten tells him about all the little details of its top-secret ANBU missions. Thatâs itâs bestie
Kakashi only finds out about SakuTenâs Thing when he catches Tenten stealing the Scroll of Seals as âan anniversary gift to Sakura!! ^_^â He has to sit down and contemplate some life decisions afterwards.
Sakura keeps her medical ninjutsu secret from anyone in ANBU (outside of Vulture) for a while, in order to keep her identity secret as well. She does not, however, remember to keep the terrifying shit she can do with said medical ninjutsu a secret. Thereâs a solid few months in which the ANBU higher-ups are scrambling to find out if Orochimaru took in another apprentice while they werenât looking.
ANBU agents arenât supposed to keep their identity secret from fellow agents. Tenten ignored this rule because it thought it would make it seem scarier (funny to it). Nobody told Sakura about this rule until it was too late.
Naruto and Sasuke have no fucking clue Sakura joined ANBU, because she just didnât tell them. Kakashi wouldâve told them, but he assumed Sakura did, because why wouldnât she? She did, however, tell Sai, who accidentally spilled to Ino.
Tsunade is on a retirement vacation/honeymoon with Shizune when Sakura joins ANBU. She is not very happy with Kakashi when she comes back.
What, exactly, is their relationship? Who knows. Donât ask them. Sometimes Sakura calls Tenten âmy annoying roommate,â and sometimes Crane calls Vulture âmy husband, whom I hate.â Tentenâs answers are even more confusing.
