The ‘Sun God’ seemed to ignore the confirmation of Palutena’s identity, continuing to make strikes, over and over again.
“That goddess’s light means nothing now!” he said, the right light of possession glowing even more intensely in the puppet’s eyes, “The only light of justice and power is through Galeem! And with that power, I’m going to thrash you into the ground!”
The puppet’s arm formed into a sharp spear and prepped to slam down right into the goddess.
{ 女神 } ...Yyyyyyup, that sounded about right. Pyrrhon always was a bit of a... loose cannon, to put it politely. Even without the process that turned the god into a spirit, it probably didn’t take much for Galeem to get Pyrrhon on his side. Jumping back, Palutena managed to avoid letting the spear hit her flesh, but the sharp point did manage to pin her dress to the ground, rendering her immobile anyway.
Thinking quickly, Palutena came up with an idea. Usually, Pyrrhon would be immune to this sort of thing, being the supposed god of the sun and all, but now that he was in a different body, maybe this would work? She quickly pointed her staff at him, and activated one of her many powers.
“Explosive Flame!” She shouted as a large explosion began to form right in front of them. This was her own attack, so it wouldn’t hurt her, but hopefully it’d do some damage to him.

{ 女神 } “What’s the matter, Pyrrhon? How could you not remember a charming face like mine?” Palutena teased, knowing that Pyrrhon was getting heated, pun completely intended. However, fitting his hot-headed status, Pyrrhon immediately started charging up a blast with Corrin’s dragon hand, and the goddess could tell that it wasn’t just paralyzing water this time.
Of course, she was more than prepared for this, as she almost immediately put up a Reflect Barrier. It didn’t matter how powerful Pyrrhon’s attack was, this baby would send it right back at him.
“We had such a good time fighting the Aurum! I’m hurt you don’t remember me, old friend!”
She’s just messing with him now.
Overconfidence is a fighter’s worst enemy, and for Pyrrhon that was certainly not exception. He’d take his own blast and knock himself back once again.
“AUGH! I will not be mocked like this!” he yelled out, “It’s not hot, seriously…”
He let out another battle cry before dashing forward, attempting to swipe the other back with the replica blade.
“And I certainly won’t take anything from the likes of you, VILLAIN!”
Wait… could it be he’s actually not aware of who he’s up against…?
{ 女神 } ...Wait, villain? The cry caught her so off guard, she was too deep in thought to even dodge the attack fully, and by the time she managed to remember, Pyrrhon had gotten close enough to still deal a sizeable cut to her side. But there were more important matters at hand. Maybe if she reminded Pyrrhon who she was, he’d stop fighting...?
“Villain? I’m not a villain! Don’t you know who I am, Pyrrhon? It’s me, Palutena! You know, the goddess of light? We fought the Aurum together! Well, before you got taken over by them, at least... I know I wasn’t actually there during the fight, but surely you remember me!” Was it even possible to reason with people when they were just spirits possessing puppets? Maybe their minds were just focused on nothing but fighting...

“Wha-AHHHHHHH!”
He didn’t even see the blow, much less the goddess, coming. The slam knocked him up into the air, making the puppet hilariously land right on his face.
After such an embarrassing display, the puppet pulled himself up, pointing accusatory in an accusatory fashion.
“Only a foul villain would strike in such an underhanded way!” he cried, “I hope you’re prepared for some SCALDING HOT JUSTICE!!!”
He didn’t seem to recognize the goddess for some reason… well, either that or he was more blinded by his own ‘heroic’ bravado. Either way, he was charging a blast, which did not only contain the usual properties of Corrin’s usual attacks, but also some of the fire of the wannabe god.

“AH HA HA! An epic hero rises from the ashes in a TOTALLY AWESOME new body!”
Oh boy, did that heroic pandering feel familiar, as did the sudden raise in temperature. Though the puppet the spirit was inhabiting was the form of the dragon prince, it seems the self-proclaimed Sun God was behind the wheel of that vessel.
He was standing in the way, boasting. He hadn’t noticed anyone nearby yet. Maybe the Goddess could get the jump on him and not have to deal with his nonsense for long.
“Pyrrhon will now be able to use both fire AND water to dispense justice! This is gonna be ULTIMATELY EPIC!”
{ 女神 } Well, there’s a certain tone of voice she never thought she’d hear again. Galeem really pulled from all corners of the universe for these things, didn’t he? Luckily, it seemed as if Corrhon was too busy gloating about the new powers he found himself wielding, so Palutena was easily able to sneak up behind him. She knew Corrin, and he was certainly a friend of hers, so hitting a vessel that looked like him was a bit upsetting.
But then again, she knew this was the only way to free the captive spirit within, so she grabbed her staff, and prepared to swing. But before she did, she would make her presence known.
“Hey, Pyrrhon.”
“Shazammitylam.” And with that, she swung her staff directly into the side of the puppet fighter.
{ 女神 } “Just one day until the tournament starts, and my new moveset enhancements propel me to the top-tier spot!”
I wonder how weird it would be if Palutena was possessed by... the 80s version of herself.
