{ ジョーカー } Joker wasn’t expecting a gift from any of the residents of this mansion, least of all Geno. But he takes the box in his hands, and smiles when he sees the mask inside. It looked perfect for him. Placing the now empty box in his pocket, Joker nods appreciatively.

“Thanks, Geno. Sorry, I didn’t really think to get you anything... But I appreciate it a lot. I’ll make sure to wear it often. Merry Christmas to you too.”

“ … What’s a Phantom Thief anyways, Mr. Joker? ” Straight to the point from the pink-coated child, looking up toward the leader of the Phantom thieves with distinct curiosity. There were plenty of newcomers to the mansion, and certainly the kids were curious about all of them, but this one was… very unique by comparison. Sure, there were other members shrouded in secrets and unique backstories, but this one shrouded himself in mystery, wearing a mask and calling himself a thief. Did that make him a bad guy? He wasn’t one of the bad guy challengers, was he?

“ I know thiefs steal… hey! You’d better not take anything from Nana or me, Mr. Joker! ” After all, he called himself a thief - and they didn’t bring much here as it was! The last thing Popo wanted was for either of them to lose their belongings! Nana, especially… she’d probably be really torn up about it, and there was no way Popo would be okay with that! “ No thiefing on us, or else! ”

{ ジョーカー } ...Well, he couldn’t exactly be offended. He was marketing himself as a “super cool elusive phantom thief” when it came to this tournament. Plus, these two seemed pretty young, it was natural that they were worried he’d steal something from them.

“Ah, well, uh... First off, don’t worry, I won’t steal anything from you. I only steal from people who deserve to be stolen from.” Was that a good enough explanation? He hoped so. “As for what a phantom thief is... It’s hard to explain, really. I’m a special kind of thief, and trust me, neither of you have the kind of thing I’d want to steal.”

He tried to smile and come off as approachable and friendly to these two, but that was easier said than done when he was still dressed like he had a heist to go to.

Well, he was happy to answer. “Well, it probably has to do with the fact that there’s only one of me. But outside of that, it’s not just the mask that hides my identity. To be a thief like me, you have to be good at stealth, so my identity is well hidden because nobody ever really sees me to begin with.”

“As for my ‘identity’, all you need to know is that my name is Joker, and I’m the leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Any more info than that isn’t necessary. But either way, it’s nice to meet you, Zelda. Don’t worry about the rambling, you get to the point a lot quicker than some other people I know.”
