I can't remember if I've already sent an ask about this or not, but are you planning any fic exchanges in the future?

I had meant to put up an announcement about this, but Karen and I no longer have the time to run a major exchange. We meant to look for some helper mods/mods-in-training to handle the day-to-day work of Ladystuck, but that … didn’t happen.

We might as well do it now. If you would be interested in running/helping run Ladystuck, please email ladystuck at gmail with your: Tumblr and AO3 usernames; history of participating in the exchange; any relevant experience you have. We’d be looking for 2-3 people to answer questions, hand-check matches, post copy, and assign/keep track of pinch-hitters.

Pinch-hits will be going out in a moment--we very much encourage you to check them out, and, if you are able, to consider picking up one or two. The collection will remain open in the meantime, so you might want to take this opportunity to look over your remixes to make sure they’re nice and polished (and posted to the correct place) . . . and don’t forget Ladystuck Treats, either!

If you think you will need a little extra time, we do take extensions on a case-by-case basis–please email us (ladystuck at gmail) before the deadline, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Do not wait until after the deadline! We try to send pinch-hits out shortly after the deadline passes, and waiting to inform us you need more time until after that creates headaches for us.

You can post to the collection as soon as you’re done, and we encourage you to do so, as it makes our lives a little easier :) However, please hold off on posting to tumblr, or anywhere else, until authors are revealed on the 8th.

when posting, i used your guide on how to upload images, but i tried it several times and the image did not show up in the preview? is that normal or am i doing something wrong?

IIRC (artists can correct me on this if I’m wrong?) they should. A couple of things this might be: make sure that you’re using straight quotes, not smart quotes, and that you’ve taken the brackets out of [YOUR URL HERE]. If you still can’t get it to work, email us (ladystuck at gmail) with the code you’re using and we’ll try and help you sort it out.

Please remember that your Ladystuck Remix works are due July 25 at 11:59 PM Chicago time (UTC -5). That’s about two weeks from today!

We ask that if circumstances have changed and you will not be able to complete your assignment, to let us know by July 17. Participants who default or otherwise fail to turn in their assignments after that date will be banned from Ladystuck-related exchanges for a period of one year.

Er, on that note. We have a pinch hit that’s still unclaimed, and we would really appreciate if you would take a look and see if it’s something it looks like you can do! You will have the mods’ undying gratitude and also a pony.*

in regards to ladystuck treats, we have to wait till posting begins to post our treats, right? also, do you have to sign up for ladystuck treats to be able to remix a treat for someone else? thanks!

You do not! You may post your treat any time you like--we will open the collection at the same time as the main challenge collection--and anyone can remix for Treats, whether you want to personally put your work up for remixing or not.

Just to be completely clear: do we have to remix one of the things specifically listed as a qualifying work, or are we allowed to pick anything that our assigned person has written? Since there's a "master list" at the top of the assignment, but everything else seems to only talk about the qualifying works.

You can remix anything on the masterlist! The “qualifying works” part is just to make sure everyone has a minimum number of works to choose from--you can go outside it if you would like (although we can’t guarantee that if you opted out of certain content, for example, stuff that’s not a qualifying work won’t have it).

Hello! We hope you didn’t think we’d forgotten about you. Assignments are being sent out now; you should get yours within the next few minutes, if you haven’t already. You should be getting TWO EMAILS:

one from the AO3, confirming that you’ve been hooked up to their system;

and one from us, with the actual details of your assignment (and links to qualifying works, etc.)

(Note that if you gave us a different email from the one you gave AO3, they may not be sent to the same address.) Please let us know as soon as possible (ladystuck at gmail) if you are missing something!

Please remember that this is an anonymous exchange, and do not contact them under any circumstances. (If for some reason you really need clarification from them, email us and we will act as proxies.) We also ask that, to preserve that anonymity, you refrain from giving details about your excitement in public--generalized squeeing/panicking is fine, of course.

Not that we want you to panic.

We will remind you that this is an experimental sort of exchange and you may receive an assignment somewhat out of your comfort zone! Remember that you can always change the style, tone, mood, or scope to suit you better, or write out that minor character you don’t really like. That said, we have tried to abide by your preferences with regards to disliked characters/pairings, porn, and the Ladystuck Remix-specific opt-outs (rape, abuse, suicide, etc.) If this is not the case in your qualifying works specifically (we can’t guarantee anything else), please let us know as soon as possible so we can reassign you.

Your remixes are due July 25 at 11:59 PM Chicago time (UTC -5). Please let us know by July 18 if you will not be able to complete your assignment. We hope it doesn’t come to that, however--we hope that your assignment brings you joy, and that you’re as excited as we are to see what everyone comes up with! Hey! So we might have mentioned that we’ll be doing Ladystuck Treats again this year–for those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically a free-for-all challenge that anyone can participate in, and which isn’t subject to the same size/length requirements as Ladystuck proper. Usually we make the list of everyone’s requests public, and anyone can come by and fill prompts as their heart pleases.

However, since in this case the “requests” are everyone’s beautiful creative blossoms, and we didn’t want to assume that everyone who signs up for Ladystuck Remix would be okay with having their stuff experimented with by anyone who happened by, we’ll be taking separate signups for Treats. People who want to opt-in to being remixed will fill out a short form with a link to their work, and you’ll be able to look through the signups for someone whose work looks like it would be cool to, well, work with. :) Anyone can sign up to be remixed (you don’t have to be in Ladystuck Remix proper) or remix someone else’s work. In fact we especially encourage people who missed out on signups, or who didn’t have enough work to qualify for Remix, to participate!
