Her mermaid design! Her tail is approximately 2.5 Zukos long :]

I imagine her culture would be different under the sea, so instead of the betrothal necklace passed down, it's a hunting trophy her father had given to her mother. She keeps it around her waist in mermaid form (it'd pose a choking hazard when swimming otherwise).

And a big tail for more powerful flowing waterbending movements; in this AU mermaids were related to the original waterbenders! She also has gills on her neck and tail so she can lounge in the air so long as part of her tail is in the water.

Alright I kinda stumbled into the Jetara tag and it thoroughly depressed me lol

They're so similar: both lost their entire community and had to raise what was left as children themselves. Both had to step up because there was no one left to. Both are leaders and caretakers and fighters.

Maybe if he had a better support system instead of being the support system for everyone around him as a traumatized child himself, then he wouldn't have been so consumed by his obsession, and they could've been a wholesome first love saving the world together. The dreamy atmosphere of the scenery they first meet in just stings of what could have been.

She's the good ending; he's the bad ending. She's empowered by her anger; he's blinded by his. She protects the innocent; he punishes the guilty. She gives too much; he takes too much. She chooses hope and looks to the future; he's stuck in the past and falls into the same cycle of violence.

I believe he died in a state of redemption, using his last breath to put Katara first and tell her it would be okay, even if he never lived to be fully redeemed. So, this is a what if. What if they met under better circumstances and were happy together, or what if he lived to be redeemed and made things right.

Alright hear me out: I think they'd be cute together (I'm their #1 defender, my annoying traumatized teenagers who got done dirty by the writing all the time for conflict)

I think they'd be best friends post memory-wipe but also post memory-regain, since he's well-adjusted to the real world but has the same supernatural weird upbringing/knowledge so they'd have a lot to relate over. He's super earnest and she's bubbly and fun, so I think they'd balance each other out well (moon and sun).

They both were created through some mystical interference

Their entire childhoods were a fabrication; Dawn only having been a human for a small fraction of her recalled life while Connor had his entire life rewritten. Both had to grapple with the knowledge that all their memories are fake. Identity crisis bonding!

Dawn spent her first year as a human being hunted while knowing she wasn't real nor was her family; Connor grew up in survival mode against a demon dimension while knowing his family wasn't real. They both hated "what" they were (son of demons/the key) and struggled with their innate morality.

They could relate over being depressed cringey demon fighting teenagers. I think healthy Connor would be pretty mortified at the stuff he'd done, and Dawn would be both understanding and clowning him for it when appropriate

They'd be a sick tag team duo of Watcher Plan Maker Dawn and Superhuman Meat Shield Connor

They're both all gas no breaks, so I think they'd get into some funny shenanigans hunting demons

It'd be funny since she'd be the third crush he had that was at one point an unknowable primordial power (insert that goofy line "I guess I've always had a thing for older women" "They were supposed to fix that" "what" lol b/c she's technically forever years old)
