This is an out of character message.

I have never been more disgusted with a group of people online than I am now. For the past few months I have witnessed constant battles among people who all supposedly stand by a certain chosen person. Everyone on here acts like there are teams and if you do not side with one you have to be hated and dragged through the dirt. You know, I remember a time when rping was about having fun and not a  popularity contest revolving around destroying others. I have seen people release private conversations on here to ruin others, make unnecessary call out posts, I have even been begged by several people to ditch others who I consider friends. What the hell is wrong with all of you? It makes me sick to see this happen in a community revolving around such a happy kids game. 

Some of you despise me because I am friends with a select few people. Others do not. But, I am speaking right now as an outsider to this shit hole of a community. All of you involved in this made up little war are mentally deranged and I hope some peace of mind comes to you.

I’ve grown tired of all this nonsense and am saying goodbye to this community.

Thank you to all of those who came to me as your own people and gave me some wonderful threads to experience. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I miss when rping was about having fun.

Lae sweats.“This one time I was at a nature reserve and its beach was made all out of these really smooth, round pebbles. Well, I have a thing for rocks and gems to begin with so I just had to have some of these stones. So, I got my backpack and began stuffing as many stones as possible into it. Now, taking stones from this place was illegal. It’s a reserve. But, I was gonna take as many as I wanted! So, I filled my bag right up to the brim and got it onto my back. It was pretty much ready to burst and while on my way out of the park, right in front of the stupid ranger, the bag began to rip off the straps. It couldn’t hold all those pebbles and, with the loudest tearing I’d ever heard, it gave up and tore right open. Hundreds of kidnapped rocks fell to the ground and.... I got fined a pretty penny for trying to smuggle pebbles from a nature reserve.”

Lae let the names scurry around in her head while she listened to Lusamine speak. What Lillie saw in her mother now she never knew. But, leaving now would mean breaking a promise to the girl who admired her so.

She sighed. “Alright. Look, I am here to make your daughter happy. To tell her you and I had a lovely visit and all went well. So, I am willing to at least fake enjoying this visit if you are so Lillie will be pleased. Can we at least agree on this? Just for today?”

“My–…? Ah…”

This was Lillie’s fault, then? This, and so many other detestable things.

Lusamine had fallen still where she lay with her eyes still shut, but her serene face twisted into a scowl that showed clearly what she thought of Lae’s request: it was contemptible and useless. For whose sake would she be pretending? For Lillie, the hideous little traitor who had condemned her to this miserable existence– and the Champion, who had taught Lillie to defy her mother.

It was hardly worth the effort.

Her heavy eyelids lifted to allow twin slivers of Serperior-green to peer through.

“I was already being quite civil, Lae… I offered you a place to sit, tried to speak to you politely… You are the one being difficult.”

Goddammit... Lusamine was right. Lae let out an annoyed sigh and looked away. “Fine. You’re right. Does the offer still stand to sit?” The girl asked with a wary gaze still on her face. She wanted so badly for this to go well. Just so she wouldn’t have to lie to Lillie’s face. But, maybe that’s what would have to happen anyhow...

Lae was rather absorbed in the hug. She knew it went on a little too long for a hug between friends, but the girl didn’t want it to end. She could have stayed there all day in his warmth. Sure, he didn’t smell  the best. Yes, he was kind of sweaty. But, he was warm and the way he was holding her... Could there be something more?

When the hug was over, Lae eagerly waited to see what this other part of the gift was. The smile on her face remained, even when Guzma was obviously wound tighter than a drum with nerves. When her friend offered the red piece of paper she made sure to take hold of it with utmost care. Her slim fingers carefully felt the paper as she looked over the back of it.

“Guzma, what is-”

Then, she turned it over. Her face went from giddy to complete and utter awe. It wasn’t from how nicely place that macaroni was either...

Her eyes carefully traced every letter on the card. She didn’t want to believe it. It was something too good to be true. Was she dreaming? Was he playing games? It couldn’t be real... Or could it? Lae was silent for a minute as she took in everything and tried to form some sort of sentence that matched her feelings. Her eyes began glistening in the sun as a few tears formed on her eyelids.

Guzma had wanted her to be his valentine.

When she looked back up at the anxious man before her a smile unlike any smile before it formed on her face. Her cheeks became as red as the paper in her hands and her eyes seemed to sparkle like stars.

“Yes...”
