You tried to change, didn’t you? You tried to change for him, thinking if you changed he’d love you a little more or maybe he’d become more soft. Maybe he’d stop bruising your soul with words that cut way deeper than anything else and maybe he’d change after the first 10 times he promised he would. But he never did. So maybe if you just changed yourself first? You would straighten your hair because he liked it and he made you stop wearing lipstick because it would get everywhere. You can’t change human beings, they never change, they are who they are, you can’t work on them, they won’t become everything you want them to be. Once a liar, always a liar and once a cheater, always a cheater. Stop thinking if you spend more time on them, tolerating everything they do that sickens your mind and aches your soul, that maybe with time they’ll change… They won’t. Humans don’t change and especially not for other humans.
