It was a friendly greeting that met him at least, and soon Haruka’s confusion turned into a smile. “You’re right, I’ve only just come to the city! How did you know? While I’m glad amends are trying to be made the fact that this happened is going to hang over FRW for a long time to come. Hii, I understand that you’re trying, and I as well as many others are very grateful for that. But the fact that this was an issue in the first place is what upsets me the most.

I, as a trans male, am very upset at what happened here today. I along with many others struggle with acceptance and trying to find a place where we can go without be judged. Outside the internet we are judged constantly for how we choose to live our lives, especially if we’re open with it, like myself.

Many of us are constantly misgendered and brushed aside when we ask for our voices to be heard. So coming online is a place where we can unwind and forget about things like this with people who love us for who we truly are. We find safe places to belong and be accepted. Speaking from my experience, roleplay groups were the first places that I truly felt like I could be myself and meet people that happened to be just like me. It was a safe place. But with what transpired here today, FRW is no longer a place like that for me.

Trans people, nonbinary, agender, df/mab, and many more, both young and old, struggle with acceptance on a daily basis. Our identities are made invalid all the time. This was a huge blow for many of us here and even if you deal with the issue, the fact that this happened is going to hang over the name Fates Rewritten for a long time. I really hope you can work things out and I know you’re trying your best Hii. I wish you luck with everything going on and I’m so so sorry you have to deal with what happened in the wake of the storm.
