I’ve survived a lot of things, and I’ll probably survive this.

But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

"My goodness. I have never felt such a strong force. You hold such pain and strength within you - it's like a blinding light. Please do not let anyone put you out."
“And you would be wise to keep yourself far from my mind. No one shall blow out the light I hold unless I decided to allow it. Should it be smothered who better to do it than myself?”
“That is a rather sad way of thinking on things, I suppose.” She murmured, tapping her fingers against her chin. “Forgive me, I wasn’t trying to pick your brain, I merely felt your presence. Your strength. Your sorrow.”
Giving a shrug Armand seemed to not be bothered by the way he viewed the world around him. “I am not upset with you so apologizes are not necessary from you. My sorrow is my strength.”
"Sorrow seems to give many of us strength, I know it is what often keeps me going." She murmured, offering him a respective smile. "Where are my manners? I should have introduced myself. My name is Emeline."

Forgive me - I can't help but wonder if there are answers that you are seeking...
*blinking owlishly* Answers? I don’t believe so. I haven’t asked you any questions.

Though she was used to others looking younger than her and yet treating her as though she were the younger one, those instances usually occurred with other Vampires. This felt very different to her, stranger, and she stayed quiet for a few moments, taking in the city as they continued on their way. “We can’t control so many things about our existence. I still can’t think of what questions I had. Perhaps they were subconscious? I’m sorry I’m not more a help with that.”
She smiled, a polite one - one that almost could of been an apology. “Yes, I think it was. Perhaps I can focus on the present, care to tell me more about yourself?” She asked as they continued to walk; her pace slowing so they could continue a conversation.

“I am no idiot, I am well aware that you are a vampire - I could sense that from miles away should I have wished to pay attention to you.” She mused, smirking slightly. “You just seem to have that attitude that you believe you are better than all.
‘’And what if I am?’’She grinned back the witch. ‘’But I was being serious, you sounded as if you were asking something important. Can you blame me for standing my ground?“
“That is a terrible way to think of things.” She rolled her eyes. “I suppose not but whatever it was...it’s not important anymore.”

“Simply one of my many talents. I’m a witch - an immortal one at that.” She shrugged casually as if this was a normal routine for her. She began to take a few steps in the right direction, motioning for the other to follow.
For most of her life, Rose had never considered the possibility of an immortal witch, and had this encounter happened a few years ago, she would not have believed her. Now, she gaped slightly, before rushing behind Emeline, having fallen behind. “Immortal without needing to feed…I’m almost a little jealous. I know it’s impolite to ask a woman her age…but you look about my age. I’m only 22. Turned two years ago. There, I went first.”
Emeline offered a sympathetic smile, nodding. "I wish the same could have been for you my dear but sadly the universe works in odd ways." She continued walking, keeping her voice low enough for her ears. "I am 188 years old but not physically a day over 18."

Shock overcame her, and she took a step back from her, wary of anyone unfamiliar who could tell what she was. She had hoped it wasn’t becoming too obvious. “How can you tell? And…if you wouldn’t mind, that would be appreciated, thank you.”

Emeline froze, a faint blush rising to her cheeks. “Forgive me, Miss. I suppose it’s an intuitive guess. It’s no way to greet someone - I need to work on my manners.” Hand extended forward to the other. “My name is Emeline.”
Stilling a little at the woman’s blush, she simply tried not to breathe too deeply, taking the hand gingerly. Rose quickly set her hands by her sides, still a little wary with humans. “It’s nice to meet you, Emeline. I’m Rose. And it’s okay. Maybe the only answer I need right now is how to get to Tremé from here.”
It made her giggle how quick she was to release her hand, Emeline shook her head. “You won’t hurt me - I do believe I am far older than you.” She smirked, voice low so passerby’s would not hear. “Tremé? It’s fairly close - a few blocks south. I could show you...”

‘’You can’t be serious.’’She scoffed. ‘’Better than you…now that depends on what you’re talking about. But I can sense who you are, and you should be able to do the same if you’re so damn confident.’’
“I am no idiot, I am well aware that you are a vampire - I could sense that from miles away should I have wished to pay attention to you.” She mused, smirking slightly. “You just seem to have that attitude that you believe you are better than all.”
