3. What are some features of others that attract them from the outset?

//Competence and confidence. Not that the occasional goof-up isn't cute, but seeing someone dominate a battlefield or soundly win an argument will immediately put them on his radar. Power, talent, and intelligence are incredibly attractive to him. He also loves learning new things, so a tendency to prattle on about various subjects, especially in a theoretical sense, is great, and even moreso if they have a soothing voice. And as far as physical features? He has a strong preference for "pretty" faces, regardless of gender. That sort of ethereal beauty that makes it easy to imagine a person could be a god or monarch regardless of their actual station in life, with soft and/or regal features, mesmerizing eyes, and full lips, but not necessarily perfect complexion, because scars and markings often add to a person's beauty to him.

5. What are their most common turn-ons?

//Teasing touches, casual displays of skill, flirtatious comments, suggestive looks, and heated moments. Basically, anything that involves the other person showing off or trying to get a reaction out of him.

13. Are they openly flirtatious/sexual, or are they quite private?

//Honestly, he's more open than you'd expect and is very publicly affectionate, but he has a healthy enough level of embarrassment/shame to avoid anything truly wild in front of others. It also depends on how confident he is in the other person being receptive to his advances. Earlier, shier forms of flirting are likely to involve mostly a lot of staring and taking advantage of opportunities to spend time together, but as he grows confident enough to become more coy and playful, he might whisper scandalous things to them, try to tease them with his body language, or sneak in subtle touches that can't be seen by others. Pleasant shock and weak "admonishment" (especially while grinning or trying to suppress a smile) are his favorite reactions to evoke in such cases.

//Actually, while I'm at it, I'm going to post some of my favorite headcanons for each active muse to start things off.

Hawke:

He doesn't like to kill. It's never his immediate goal, and he only does so when he sees no other option. Killing the Arishok, who he had seen as a friend of sorts, was only done because he was backed into a corner, and it avoided potentially even more deaths being on his head. Still, he hated himself for it, and he hated that statue even more. This is also part of why Anders's choice to involve him in gathering those ingredients made him feel more deeply betrayed and why he nearly spiraled out in panic at Sebastian's ultimatum. He didn't want to kill anyone, but especially not a (former?) friend, and especially not the man he owed his brother's life to...

Lavellan:

This is probably going to be the most lighthearted one here, and I'm not sure if I already mentioned it on his individual blog, but I just want everyone to know or remember that this poor amnesiac little elf didn't even know his own name when he woke up. Unfortunately, due to the legend now surrounding him, everyone else addressed him as if they knew him, and for a brief period of time, he had to deal with the disappointment and horror of thinking his name might be "Harold".

Raven:

Less of a headcanon than legitimately a way you can interpret the canon events of the show, but you know the whole Trigon arc? Raven did not think she would survive. She did not think her friends would find a way to defeat her father and undo his destruction of Earth. She literally sacrificed herself and the rest of the world to protect the only real family she'd ever had. And given that she wasn't even sure if the protection she'd placed on them would work, at the very least, she wanted to protect herself from being able to experience their deaths.

Leia:

So, this was never intended and was actually a recent discovery, but I do pride myself on doing more research than the CW writers when it comes to scientific plausibility (no "absolute heat" gun, that struggles to even melt metal doors btw, here). Anyway, while researching fire, heat, motion, density, and calories, I had the startling realization, that in order for Leia's powers to plausibly work without killing her, she'd need new organ structures that make her no longer completely human, she might be somewhat immortal (probably not invulnerable, though), and if she ever reached real absolute heat, she'd create a black hole, create a new universe, and/or break the laws of physics as we know them. She doesn't realize any of this, and she probably won't handle it well if she learns about it, but that's science for you! ✌️

Bruce:

So, there's one kinda fucked up thing in Bruce's past that almost nobody knows about, and that's the fact that he almost killed Joe Chill before he became Batman. When he didn't go through with it, he confided in exactly one person (Alfred by default, but potentially Harvey in threads where they were childhood friends). What nobody but Bruce knows (now that Joe Chill's dead), is that when Jason died, and Bruce was faced with the first murder of a direct family member since his parents, he decided to ask the man who helped create his no-kill rule what he should do about wanting nothing more than to break it. There's a lot more to this, but the short version is that Joe kind of avoided answering but strongly pointed Bruce towards not going through with it by asking how Jason would feel, and Bruce planned to ignore that, but while beating the Joker to death, he couldn't stop thinking about that question and restrained himself from going through with it for the sake of not tainting Jason's memory. Needless to say, the whole Red Hood thing had him feeling extra fucked up.

Verses

//For the most part, I just tag things based on what part of the canon timeline they fall into. Veilguard will not be considered canon on this blog, so I will continue to use post-Trespasser for events that align with it. The verses listed below are simply to allow Lavellan to interact with other Inquisitors and Rooks

1. DA:I Companion

Lavellan was still sent to the Conclave, and may still be the one who received the Mark (maybe they even both have it). If he did, however, rather than putting him in charge based on nothing but superstitious rumors and the fact that he seemed easy to manipulate, the advisors decided to name someone more competent as the Inquisitor. If he didn't, maybe he was running late (and therefore wasn't close enough to be killed) or maybe he just got really lucky, but he was only caught up in the explosion enough to still be left with total amnesia. If you come from the same clan and were close to the orphaned outsider who never quite fit in, you can try to help him remember who he is, and maybe that's why you take him along with you occasionally. If you think he's better off not knowing that he was dropped off with the clan because his mother died and that his presence was mostly just tolerated and not truly wanted there, if you had never paid much attention to him before, or if you were part of a different group attending the Conclave, he would instead be approached by Solas for help with restoring his memories, and he'd likely approach him for help remembering his past before the clan, regardless. It's possible Solas even tried to prime him as an agent of Fen'Harel during this process, but he would never accept the heavy loss of life brought on by tearing down the Veil. And there are various reasons he could end up tagging along on certain missions with the Inquisitor, like still having the Mark, advisors requiring him to in hopes he can be used to report honestly on the Inquisitor's actions, members of the Inner Circle he's grown close to bringing him for their own reasons, or your genuine interest in having him join you, but no matter what, he'll be eager to fight injustice and help others, will prove himself a decent tracker and, eventually, fighter, and will be a loyal friend if given the chance to.

2. DA:4 Companion (spoilers below)

Whether he became the Inquisitor, received the Mark, or is simply a man who survived the Conclave at the expense of his memories, Lavellan's close relationship to Solas and Varric would see him on the front lines of any major events involving the Dread Wolf and Evanuris. He would believe Solas could be saved, even if he'd been trying to stop him for as inexplicably long as a decade, and he'd probably at least join Varric, if not take his place in confronting his old mentor. If, for some reason, a knife (bc the idol was not originally a bladed weapon) was still part of the ritual and Varric was still killed, he would be devastated, and it's highly unlikely Rook wouldn't know the truth of what happened with him around. He would also have some experience with Solas being in his head, even if his instances were voluntary, from the attempts to restore his memory, and if he'd at least gotten the Mark during the Conclave, he'd also likely have drunk from the Well of Sorrows and, if they knew Solas had absorbed Mythal's power, he'd understand the fear of a magical/mental connection being used against him too. Such a connection to Mythal could also either be a boon or an added danger if Mythal's spirit was still approached for aid. No matter what happened in this version of events*, though, his unique insight into Solas's mindset, ability to potentially sympathize and reason with agents of Fen'Harel, his ability to see the Crossroads in color, his combat prowess, his connections, and his endless determination all add to his usefulness in this fight to save the world.

*Even if there's a new "main character" or Lavellan was only a companion to a different Inquisitor, I request that changes are at least made to make the events more compliant with the lore of the past 3 games. Solas can still use the idol and/or a dagger, but I'm not going to pretend the idol always was a dagger and that any enchantments have always existed on the blade itself. There may no longer be Agents of Fen'Harel, and he may have stopped using Arlathan as his main base, but we should figure out the reason behind those things. There's a lot more, but I'm still working on the post listing my issues with Veilguard, including things it ignored, things it tried to retcon, bad mechanics, poorly written characters/concepts, topics that were mishandled, and rejected concepts I wish they'd gone forward with. All I absolutely request changed are the things it tried to retcon, but I'd be more than happy to plot out a combination of our ideal versions of what this game could have been.

//Okay, so, hiatus is officially ending for some of my blogs. I finished all the replies that I know of, and all of them were from Discord. There are a couple threads that involved planning from much earlier I might prioritize my continuation of with new starters for them, but as far as I know, every thread I'm involved in on here was last responded to by me. I'm not saying that to pressure others to continue, but because if there's any threads I didn't reply to, I am unaware of them and would love to be reminded! Eventually, I'll get a thread tracker set up, but for now, all I have to check such things is the ever unreliable notes section of this app. 🙃✌️

Over the next few days, I'll be updating my rules, reaching out to old rp partners I've noticed are active again, and plotting with potential new ones. Over a possibly longer period of time, I will also be migrating my asks on any active blogs over here. It's just an experiment for now, but I think the best way to get engagement for some of my less popular muses and avoid the annoyance that is reblogging ask memes or ooc posts multiple times is to keep my threads on individual blogs but everything else on my main. I used to recommend not following this blog and only following the individual blogs you were interested in, but I now suggest the opposite, or at least, I think it'll be unnecessary to follow any of my individual blogs. I believe this will be the best scenario for everyone else too, because threads can clutter dashes much more than answers, and this solution seems like a better way to appeal to those overwhelmed by multimuses. I'll reblog answers to any relevant individual blogs, so you won't miss anything except personal (not muse-relevant) ooc posts if you choose to still only follow the individual ones. Whether or not ask memes will ever be reblogged on those blogs depends on if I notice there's a large number of people that choose not to follow this one, but I'm sure it's no less annoying to my mutuals than it is to me to suddenly have to scroll past the same thing reblogged up to 9 times in a row.

That being said, the blogs/muses officially out of hiatus are Batman, Raven, Swelter, Hawke, and Lavellan. All of them except Raven have active threads or plots at least on Discord, but I added Raven because she used to be my most popular muse on an old account, and I'm hoping that utilizing this blog as an ask hub of sorts will generate more engagement with her. I will be updating her information to match her current age and circumstances in her shared universe with Batman (though asks will still default to Teen Titans era until I'm able to flesh out my version of the team getting back together to avoid too much angst and misery in her answers), but I will not be updating my DA blogs to match the current events of canon. The reason Lavellan is being brought back sooner than planned is because I did manage to finish Veilguard a few days ago, but unfortunately, I was mostly disappointed by the game. There were portions I enjoyed, and I will make a clearer post later on what I'm willing to adopt from it into the events of my own muses' canons, but Hawke will continue to default to some time in Act 2 or 3 of DA2 for his answers, and Lavellan will still default to an unspecified period post-Trespasser.

//Okay, so obviously, it's been more than a few weeks, but I've had a lot more complications come up that I don't feel like listing entirely right now, and my mental health continues to be a struggle. That being said, I've put out the majority of the most pressing fires, and I do think writing helps improve my mental health when I get into a groove with it, so I'm going to end my hiatus on a couple blogs in the next week or two, primarily Bruce Wayne and Garrett Hawke. Raven and my CW Flash oc, Leia Morales, might become active again as well if people show any interest in them. I'm not really feeling much muse for Aya right now, and Lavellan will have to at least wait until I finish Veilguard (even though I expect to be ignoring a good portion of canon based on spoilers I've been exposed to). My Star Wars and Riordanverse muses will remain on hiatus until I can muster up the enthusiasm to re-engage with the source materials. Whenever that eventually happens, I'll likely be focusing on Damus Tall, one of my Zabrak twins on this blog, because he's the least depressingly affected by his trauma, which is a nice break from how heavy things can get with my other muses.

In the week or two leading up to the hiatus ending for at least two of my blogs, I'll be working on replies I owe (although, I might need to pause a couple threads that don't come naturally to me and take more effort to write right now), trying to finish Veilguard, and working on the last of my especially pressing irl issues. I don't expect to get all that done, but the only official roadblock to the hiatus ending will be finishing replies. Most, if not all, of those are for mutuals on discord, so if it seems like I'm taking a while but posting little to nothing on any of my blogs, that's why. The week or two I've given myself is a generous estimate to allow me to not rush through everything and overwhelm myself. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to plot things in advance or send asks, though only the former will receive a response before the hiatus is officially over. Replies to asks and thread responses I don't already owe will start post-hiatus, again focusing on Bruce and Hawke only, unless Leia and Raven have any interest shown towards them. Fun fact: Bruce is actually meant to share a canon with Raven, which would make her 24 (same age as the mun) currently; I'll likely add a verse to explain what's gone on with her for the past decade, but I'd probably still default to her teenage self to answer any asks. Whenever I get around to reading the Nightwing comics with the old team back together, that might change, but the truth is, she's just not fun to write consistently during a time where the team isn't together, and I don't think it'd be fun for others to engage with that version of her all the time. It's the same reason I tend to default to act 2 or a relatively happy portion of act 3 for Hawke when answering asks, except at least his self-destructive behaviors can make for more interesting interactions than Raven's complete isolation from the world after their respective breaking points.

Anyway, TLDR: Batman and default purple mage Hawke from DA2 will be coming back in a week or two. Veilguard will be largely ignored and/or altered when added to verses for my Dragon Age muses, but I'm not bringing Lavellan back until I finish it. I always have a lot of muse for Raven and Leia, so they could come back too, but only if it seems like people might actually engage with them. All other muses are on the back burner. Hiatus on the aforementioned blogs will officially end after I finish any replies I owe (mostly or entirely on Discord). I expect that to happen in the next week or two. I'll reply to PMs for plotting, but asks and new starters won't be responded to until I finish what I already owe (still welcome to send them my way before then if you're okay waiting til then, though). Post-hiatus, anything left unanswered without a request to pause is just something I'm not aware it was my turn for. I'll work on a thread tracker eventually, but until then, just message me. //Indefinite Hiatus

Hopefully this won't take longer than a few more weeks at most, but an ant infestation we thought we'd dealt with 3 times now has had another spike, and this time they've breached my bedroom. Knowing that the feeling of things crawling all over me is in my head doesn't make the feeling any less overstimulating, and on top of stress from work, I'm honestly barely holding it together. The traps to get rid of them usually bring a whole flood of them in for a few days, so I'm probably going to get very poor sleep on the couch (right next to the desk my mom works at and makes calls from) during that time to avoid panicking by seeing an endless swarm of them crawl on the walls all around me in my room. Sorry, I really would like to be more active, but apparently life's favorite hobby is kicking me while I'm already down.

So, the walls in our old place finally got fixed like a week before Christmas, but we continued to live in chaos bc we were convinced 2x that we were going to be able to buy a house, so we weren't really trying to settle in.

I did a 2 month long depression treatment that involved driving 30-45 minutes out every weekday to get my head strapped into a machine that tapped on it really loudly for 20 minutes. All I got was a complete absence of free time and an increase in headaches. Also worth noting that I was still living in a tarped up home for the entirety of the treatment, so the effectiveness of the treatments may have been compromised.

Due to a combination of switching from opening to closing shifts in order to make it to the aforementioned treatments, which apparently left me with lower seniority, and scheduling being the hot messes they've always been, I ended up being subjected to a dramatic increase in physical and emotional stimuli. I did not comprehend this extra overstimulation until it was too late, much like one likely wouldn't notice their pipes were leaking if their house had already been caught in a flood. All I knew was that I ended up calling out a lot more, and because I was trying to look good for a home loan, I ended up using all my vacation time to pay myself out. I had been planning to ask for a vacation at the beginning of the year just to give my mind a break for a bit, but honestly, who knows if that actually would've done anything at this point.

Thanks to the bitchiest seller's agent in existence, the house my mom and I should be living in right now got to sit on the market for months longer waiting for a cash offer bc apparently an FHA loan with underwriter's approval for over asking wasn't fancy enough to be trusted to close. Our home-owning dreams unfortunately hit a massive roadblock when the new year started, bc my mom finally had to file her last round of taxes, which decreased any loan we might qualify for to basically nothing in our state.

With the threads my mental health was hanging on by having snapped several times over by now, I finally went on medical leave in February. It just seemed pointless continuing to pretend I was in working condition given all the shifts, meals, and meds I continued to skip. Almost a month in, my mom found a new rental opportunity for us, and we started packing to move out.

April's our first month in this new place. I'm nowhere near being unpacked, and I don't know how I'm going to be when I have to go back to work (which is farther now) until I can quit sometime soon, hopefully. However, I am seeing some progress in my depressive symptoms, and I'm mostly healed from the injuries I sustained during the move-in process. Anyway, I'm obviously not in a stable enough place to completely end my hiatus, but I would like to write a bit on here again, so if that sounds fun and you're willing to be patient with replies in the meantime, hit me up, I guess?

House has mold -> guys came to tear up walls -> did not have permits and weren't very professional -> half of house has been unusable since mid-August -> also, most of the remaining half looks like a warzone from setting things aside

Social security is giving my mom less than she was supposed to get -> qualifying for a real house looking highly unlikely anytime soon

Pain has been flaring up -> worker's comp not communicating quickly if at all -> still waiting on treatment

Heat wave -> passing out after work -> missing meals and meds -> poor mental and physical health

Phone broke -> lost pictures and drafts -> still not logged back into all my apps -> attempts to rewrite replies = writer's block from frustration of losing drafts

Tried to join my mom for part of her vacation to catch a break -> got majorly sunburnt on 1st day -> spent most of second day at hospital because stress regarding current life situation apparently gave my mom shingles and bell's palsy, made worse by her fibromyalgia -> both of us came home early -> next few days will be spent trying to help her with her medication regimen and general health

Idk what to call this. Semi/Mostly hiatus? May write occasionally, but won't promise consistent activity until life eases up for a significant enough chunk of time to feel safe. Will update when that happens.
