The green gem looked a offended and annoyed. Mostly offended, as the water gem waved her hand in front of her face, to which Peridot attempted to smack it out from her face. Unfortunately, she seemed to fail at the simplest of things. 

“Excuse you, Lazuli, but Steven made these for me, so I’ll have you know they are not trash. They are the greatest present I have ever received.” she muttered, though she looked a bit deflated at the other’s comment. 

   ‵     why would steven give you trash ? let me see them. ‵

   lapis crouched down in front of peridot and eyed the cans below her feet: regular paint cans that can be found scattered around the barn. steven told her that gifts are for making others happy, but the two had so many of these buckets, the place is overflowing with them.

peridot seemed happy, however. lapis didn’t quite get why, but maybe it’s just another thing that only humans understand. she knew steven always wanted best for them.

   ‵ hmm... it’s true they make you taller, but it’s not enough. how about two pairs? ‵

   ‵ steven told you about me? that’s nice of him. well... nice to meet you i suppose, rose quartz. ‵

   the thoughts erupted in the ocean gem’s head and she tried her hardest not to sound like she’d been holding a grudge against rose for waking a rebellion and thus ruining hundreds of innocent gems’ lives: including hers. it’s not exactly that lapis hates her, although the reasons align quite clearly. she wanted to forget -- to move on.

   ‵ i wonder which incident it is you’re talking about...? ‵

   black star hadn’t taken notice of the gem until she spoke. her    approach came off as startling - much like the assumptions she     made that were all too accurate. “What? excuse me ?” was    his initial response, as he appears rather thrown off.

   the cluster was quarantined? but how – why? and just how did the    gem know? stirring up some questions of his own, he decides it’d     best to keep it to himself if he wanted to prevent further suspicions.   “Well, it’s rather rude to tell someone off without introducing yourself,    don’t you think? though if you must know who I am - it’s black star    sapphire.”

   SHE knew it wasn’t long before yellow diamond sends someone to investigate; jasper & peridot hadn’t returned to report after all. suspicion ate the leader away & everyone knew how furious she becomes when her plans don’t succeed: so pigheaded. the sapphire now taking the task of studying the cluster, lapis couldn’t bare the thought of having him hover about, lest he finds out about the bubble.

   however, seeing that the homeworld gem didn’t mean to harm her & approached her rationally, she chose to have a few words with him.

   ‵ i’m lapis lazuli & i live here. the cluster has been delimited, it stopped growing by its own will. that’s going to be your report. ‵

the new episode with pearl and greg was so wonderful!!!! i’m so glad steven made them talk and they danced too!!! and the SONGS ♡♡

whenever gems need to talk just take them to a hotel and it’ll work out that gives me some ideas B)

“What do you mean, low? I’ll have you know that I’m very high up right now!” she huffed, crossing her arms in exasperation. 

“If anyone is low, it is you. Because I’m taller than you.”

   LAPIS had taken time to run her eyes up and down on the other’s form, considering her statement was true — but as soon as she stepped forward and glared back at peridot, it was obvious lapis was actually the taller out of the two ( although the difference was only about 10 cm ). she waved her hand horizontally back and forth above peridot’s head for effect.

   ‵ no, you aren’t. you’re still just as short, except now you have trash tied to your legs. what an incredible progression it is. ‵
