There is such happiness in this picture, my family isn't close like it was when I was younger, my cousin Matthew gave me my first nickname "Keke" and I remember my younger cousins Jelisa and Bianca used to follow me and my sister around when they would come our house when my mom used to watch them. My aunt Ann who died when I was 13 was my hero, she would take up for me even when I was wrong, she taught me how to draw faces and realistic hair when I was 5 or 6 and taught me how to crochet even though now I don't remember. My aunt Bunch bought me my first fur coat and I held on to that thing for years even after I couldn't wear it anymore. My grandma used to make me clothes, she would ask me and my sister what kind of colors or patterns we wanted our skirts and a week or so later we would go to her house and pick them up. As I got older for Christmas my grandma would give me stuffed animals because even though I was grown I had and still do have a love for stuffed animals. These and other memories are what I have to celebrate some phenomenal women that helped me become who I am and I am so blessed to have known and loved and been loved by awesome women and I am so grateful I still have my mom in my life to continue loving me. For me this is a time of remembrance, celebration and mourning but I am content.
