In a place far from safety and comfort, my little one was born, a small blessing that brought some joy into our dark days. But as I held her in my arms, I found myself battling internally because I can’t give her everything she needs.
We live in a torn tent, with no walls to shield us from the cold winds, and no roof to protect us from the rain. At night, the cold becomes unbearable, and the darkness takes over. I can’t even provide a small light to illuminate our way. My husband has done everything in his power to give us a better life, working long hours, but the conditions are just too harsh. He is no longer able to provide milk for our little one, nor winter clothes to protect her from the cold, nor even diapers to keep her safe.
All I’m asking for is a little help that can make our lives less harsh. I need energy to light up our tent at night, diapers to protect her, warm clothes to shield her from the cold, and milk to nourish her.Please help us because the bombing over our heads has resumed. I am a mother of two children, living in Gaza, and under this ongoing siege, the hardest thing is feeling powerless in the face of my children’s most basic needs. Today, I’m not seeking luxury, nor asking for the impossible... All I want is diapers for my children. A simple thing in people’s eyes, but it has become a daily burden for us in Gaza, due to skyrocketing prices, lack of income, and a war that shows no mercy to young or old.
My children do not understand the meaning of the siege, nor why their mother cries every time it’s time to change their diaper but has no replacement.
I appeal to you as a mother, with a broken heart, if these words pass before you, don’t just scroll past them. Share them, help!
The children of Gaza deserve to live like any child in the world... And I, as a mother, ask for nothing for myself, only to preserve the dignity of my children.
