I love Star Trek fans because there is so much utter and total dedication to Trek.
Hamlet, the Wizard of Oz, Much Ado about Nothing, Sunzi's Art of War have all been fully translated into Klingon. And you can buy physical copies.
In the 1960s the show was literally saved from cancellation MULTIPLE TIMES because a mass letter writing campaign by fans who made posters and letters to send to each other to describe what other fans needed to write in their letters. The people who lead those campaigns then HAD THEIR OWN FANS FOR THE WORK THEY DID.
The number of fanzines that were made and keep track of number close to 1,000 or more.
There are independent websites that keep track of every single Star Trek postage stamp ever made, licensed or unlicensed, for every country on Earth.
There is more, so much more.
Acts of dedication and love for Trek. Boundless creativity and endless hours of unpaid work. Decades of appreciation for this franchise. It makes me so happy. I love it. I love Trek and I love Trek fans.
I HATE MIRROR MIRROR IM GOIGN TO FROW UP
au where everything is the same but the slutty wrap-up is regulation for all personnel
hello????
So many props to Star Trek for having a cool, competent black woman as a part of the main cast in the 60s, I love her 💕
A little doodle, love them in this costume

The fact of the matter is, both Zachary Quinto and Ethan Peck are objectively attractive men but they look stupid as fuck in Spock hair & makeup, while Leonard Nimoy somehow becomes even hotter with pointed ears and a bowl cut. This is the universe's way of telling us only Nimoy is the true Spock vessel
(not my tweet but i can see the vision)
A warm taste of iron
I'm watching The Motion Picture tonight! First impressions, 30 minutes in: (spoilers!)
1. Nothing could have prepared me for the horrible transporter malformation incident so early in. The scream and the shapes changing... And "what we got back didn't live long". Very disturbing scene, although Kirk's "oh my god." made me laugh.
2. Poor Sonak! But lmao at Kirk trying to replace Spock with other Vulcans
3. Why is everything grey now? I actually like the slight loungewear vibe of the uniforms, reminds me of the TOS green wrap shirt, although the colors are a bit drab (and ngl, certain actors' genitalia are a bit unfortunately highlighted in the one pieces). But the revamped enterprise looks sad! Sad beige enterprise for sad beige children.
4. Kirk's hair is horrible - his sideburn is agressively triangular. It looks like when my hairdresser didn't want to give a man's haircut and he just gave me increasingly bad pixie cuts.
One hour in:
5. I DON'T BLAME BONES FOR NOT WANTING TO GO ONTO THE TRANSPORTER... You could not pay me!
6. I know we've been, as a fandom, over this, but: McCoy's fit... The medalion... What in the 70's disco...
7. Uu, seatbelts! Love the random wormhole tho. You know, wormholes. They show up. Now they're shooting the wormhole? Sci-fi, baby!
8. Kirk is not coming out too well here. I know they're creating this whole new captain old captain drama here, but it's quite a change from TOS.
9. I don't love romance plots, but I like the choice of making the woman bald. I've never seen here mentioned anywhere, so I'm guessing she might die.
10. IT'S SPOCK! : ) In a way better outfit than Bones.
11. Shatner acted Kirk's reaction as so in love/amazed here. He looks like he wants to kiss him. So does everyone else tho. But Kirk especially.
12. "Kolineer" lmao. Love this throuple divorce drama here. Spock looks amazing in his eyeshadow.
Last one!
13. I'm not too fond of the "mysterious entity" star trek formula, to be honest. It's a lot of technobabble, slow pauses and tension and waiting, and the actual interesting reveal is only at the end. This is sadly kinda this, like oh no, mysterious cloud that looks like a screensaver is shooting at us, something frenquency messages photon transporter readings warp dilithium order transmission. Can't wait to see what it is in like three hours.
14. We've been watching this alien for hours now! (10 minutes) This is like 2001 Space Oddysey all over again... I blame my Tik tok/reels/shorts attention span damage for this complaint.
15. Spock punching the computer reminds me of Amok Time : )
16. More fashion commentary - Uhura looks good, but I don't like her as much in the greige. The TOS red was very flattering on her, and I always loved the green earings.
17. Illiah's dead, I called it! Nice of the alien to give her clone a swanky bathrobe.
18. I love that someone stole a suit and fucked off into space and Kirk knew immediately it was Spock.
19. This simple feeling : )
20. V'Ger has some serious daddy issues.
22. Eh, now I know Illiah was speaking for V'Geer most of her screentime, I like the bald choice way less. We get it, androgyny as a symbol for something alien and non-human 🙄
The end! The pace picked up at the end. Overall I liked the movie, it was fun!
