A big ol spread of the Lark, Mouse, and Mack I put together while @creaturehollow and I were figuring out character stuff for The Fairy Woods. I really really like these and think there’s a ton of good stuff in it!

felt the need for some acting/lipsync practice so i did another hilda animation. this one took me a good few days lol, I had to add a few features to the rig to make it do all the acting I wanted. I've had a couple months break from animating and before that I spent a while on a show with very limited lipsync needs so this was a good test of all the stuff I'm a bit rusty at

the rig was made by the talented studiospellcircle, the audio is from a bella ramsey interview, and the bg is taken straight from the show

Starting off the character run with our protagonist Lark!

Our intrepid adventurer determined to make her mark

Next up is Lark's mother, Finley! Trying her best to content with her rambunctious child and ailing mother.

The catalyst of our entire tale. The grumbly Witch of Wodehem!

The newest addition to the Tweedy family, the helpful hob named Tob! He'll sort of be like a second pair of eyes for Finley, Gram, AND Lark lol

The first of Lark's compatriots! The intense little investigator Mouse! She likes to spend her time seeking out the mysteries of the Fairy Woods and harassing Gram lol

And finally we round out or main cast with this fishy fellow, Mack! He's not really much of the adventuring type himself but he puts up with Lark's nonsense cuz he thinks she's neat.

Now that we've established our characters it's time to go over our WORLD! The namesake of the whole story! The Fairy Woods itself!!

The Wood is a place of wonder and whimsy! A magical paradise in an already very magical world.

Despite their world renown the Woods are still probably the least well known place in the world of man! Mysteries abound everywhere. Something any intrepid explorer would be dying to uncover!

(Also yes, those are little goblin mobsters)

Now the Fairy Woods wouldn't be much without some of the actual fairies that call it home! There's a ton of odd and colorful creatures that hide amongst the branches.

Some that can only be found in the Woods themselves!

Another set of the weird little guys for your peepers! A gaggle of house squaters, rock smashers, and a silly little fellow under his hat!

Not ALL the residents are funny little balls of fur though! They can be balls of fur and mayhaps even magic too!

Friends, neighbors... Everywhere, anywhere.

With Burku's appearance, it makes me wonder if Hilda's wilderness home is a lot more crowded than it seems.

Before the prequel comics came out, I think most of us would have believed Woodman was the only neighbor Hilda had for years. Prior to that, it'd just be her and her mum. However, Burku and her parents were shown to know Hilda's family, and even helped them during a crisis.

This makes me wonder if Hilda's house is in middle of a neighborhood, full of non-human creatures who are kind and always looking out for the human mother and daughter...

Hey gang, got something extraaa special today to share with ye! I commissioned the extremely talented guynamed.reg on TikTok to draw a scene of Hilda and Siobh chilling in Siobh's room after a long day, and think its clear from the final product that they COOKED! 🔥

They unfortunately don't have a tublr for me to plug, but do go follow them on TikTok for more cool art and their OC Rhafa :D

As for the BITP, I'm still very much in the trenches College wise but I am also very close to finishing the latest batch of chapters for the Patch Notes and will hopefully be able to post them sometime this week, likely the weekend! Hopefully I'll have some new notes to give you guys as well 💔

the fact that i dont have any hilda figures for my desk feels like a problem that i need to fix

my son (and the old sketch im using as a ref) i am not a good 3D modeller lmao so I had to simplify some of the shapes quite a lot for my own sanity.. and some of the topology is wonky like near the base but hopefully i can sand off and paint over any little imperfections when he's printed :>

I felt so bad for doing this to him 😭

3D printers print from the bottom upwards and if anything overhangs onto thin air it needs supports (which you can break off after, but they leave little imperfections on the print itself which I want to avoid as much as possible). so cutting him up into 1 million pieces and lying everything flat was my best option 🥲 now he’s printed I can start reassembling him

the paintwork is kinda messy and his arms and legs are so spindly I had to be REALLY careful with him until I got a few layers of paint and varnish down (warhammer paint is the best I love this stuff). also I regret assembling him pre-painting bc peppercorn being there made some of him really hard to get a brush to 😭 so I learned a lot!! and I have some ideas for how I would approach this type of thing better next time. but he’s done 😌

and now he gets to hang out on my desk w my other minis :D
