farious pages, or tsenpha, is a very expansive, self indulgent, entirely for fun project.

there's no real way to describe farious pages, at least not one that'd be put on a book if i ever decided i wanted to publish it (which, as of right now, i don't), since it's less one singular story and more an amalgamation of different stories, with different characters and different genres, set in various different countries within the world of tsenpha.

the majority of the stories in farious pages lean more on the generally light hearted, if occasionally dramatic and angsty, romantic comedy side of things, with a semi-reasonable amount of action technically thrown in there for variety (examples include mission statement not as advertised, an adventuring party walks into a tavern, and convenient marriages of the royal kind). however, some of them do stray more towards drama and angst (examples include harvest of light, the cursed grudge, and it's about the journey). a happy ending is, usually, guaranteed because i don't care for sad ones.

hi! Share five fun facts about your favorite oc maybe?

hi! thanks for the ask, sorry it took me... a short while to get to it.

my favourite (i guess, if i was forced to pick one) oc at the moment is called galatea.

shows little to no emotion, ever, out of what she believes to be necessity after a lifetime of people falling in love with her at first sight and being incapable of taking no for an answer, leading to several wars, kidnappings, almost forced marriages and many fallen dynasties.

draws inspiration from several areas: helen of troy, galatea from myth, sirens and vampires, i guess. is sort of an exploration into the ways being born fully adult and then expected to act like it would fuck a person up.

is very sparkly. her blood is gold, her few scars glow gold, her tears are unnaturally glittery, and her hair has streaks of literal silver.

a foodie, eventually, once she starts finding joy in the world once again. also a pretty good cook, but she prefers decorating.

very creative. on the one hand that could be put down to her role as the spirit of sculptures (and all the messiness that entails) but on the other hand her talents extend far beyond sculpting. immortality has to be good for something, i guess.

Let's discuss the gods and goddesses of our fantasy world! If you're story is set in modern day, what religious influences are there?

in tsenpha, there are 5 (well, 6, but one of them is dead) major gods. who represent two sort of opposite aspects, alongside many... using real world mythology, like greek mythology, they'd be considered minor gods, but in tsenpha they're referred to as spirits.

of the 5 (6) gods, there's the deer god of death and life, the fox spirit of change and stagnation, the shark god of war and peace, the dove god of love and hate, the raven god of wisdom and ignorance, and the dead octopus god of creation and destruction.

spirit wise, there's really too many to list but a few of them are august, spirit of the sun, roxy, spirit of gemstones, attor, spirit of decay, eva, spirit of emotions, galatea, spirit of sculptures, and astra, spirit of stars.

Alright guys, we’re going to talk about aesthetics, in a character sense. We’re going to talk about aesthetics, in a this is really heavy sort of sense. We’re going to talk about the parts of our characters that are the most devoted, the most willing to sacrifice, the most willing to kill – it doesn’t have to be for the good of the cause. It can be for a single person, it can be for a single place, a single concept.

Let’s just talk about the most devotional in our stories, the ones that fit all those aesthetic quotes that are floating around, the ones that you want to just chew on a little bit because it makes you feel so much.

What are they doing that makes you feel this way? What’s at their core? What’s their moment, their flavor of insane devotion? Let’s hear it!

uhhh... hmmm.

tsenpha has a lot of incredibly devoted characters tbh (in different ways, sure, but the fact remains), but let's talk about alastor and corianne.

these two are incredibly devoted... to each other, to the point where they separately decided to toss all morals out the window when it comes to each other. alastor becomes this great villain half because of his own worldview, but mostly because of the world treated corianne. corianne, on the other hand, came back wrong and alastor was the only one not to act like that was a failing on her part, so she decides to set her brilliant yet twisted mind on supporting him in everything. is their relationship romantic or just incredibly devoted? little of column a, little of column b.

i'll throw astrophel in because technically he's relevant here, being from the same place as alastor and corianne, also being incredibly devoted, and also turning into the villain (specifically a dictator who is later imprisoned in a pocket dimension accessible only through mirrors and reflections) because of his love for two people - it gets reduced to being about the romantic love he has for darya a lot but it was also about the platonic love he had for floros, so.

again i really like writing romantic relationships, but i really want to talk about tsenpha romantic relationships for a change to the o'sullivan family spree i’m on.

darya and fitz are one of my favourites, because i find the fact i’ve written them being very in love several times yet cannot see them ever saying the words “i love you” to be very funny and interesting. they’re from what i like to call the dnd continent of tsenpha, lilios, because all of the stories there have a very dnd-esque vibe to them. they’re in the same adventuring party and go on many many adventures, obviously, which include stopping darya’s ex from breaking out of his interdimensional prison once he realises darya isn’t dead. fun times! anyway the piece i’ve written can be found in the tag here on my tsenpha focused sideblog.

asterios and nightingale are another fave, are also from lilios, and are also incapable of saying “i love you” unless it’s covered in metaphors and unromantic nicknames. he’s a priest, she’s a thief/assassin, and they’re both snarky; he’s more mischievous and sly, whilst she’s more aloof. they have their moments, including one where she gets poisoned to the point of being at death’s door and he engages in some very out of character brooding at her bedside until she wakes up and he tries to hide that he was ever concerned in the first place. as you do. one day that’ll be written, but as of now it isn’t. shame.

finally, we have vreni and sariel. they’ve got a more… dramatic? maybe? surprisingly? relationship to them because them being together is very forbidden (or, well, more like a very bad idea than actually forbidden) because vreni is royalty and vreni’s ancestor is thought to have been killed by a slegna, a race of winged people not unlike angels which sariel is, leading to the royal family starting a war against them. reality is much different from the story that’s told, however, as the story is focused on vreni discovering the truth. what i’ve written for them can be found in the tag here.

what are some cool places in... tsenpha?

there's the beach of fallen stars, which gets its name from the fact it's not really a sand or pebble beach. the things that make up the beach are shaped like stars. would i go there? probably not because i'm not really a beach person.

the faerie realm, neráleio, is also pretty neat, because it doesn't really have a day and night cycle. day, for them, is comparable to dusk, whilst the night is night. they also have two moons, which is pretty fun - old folk tales go that one of them used to be their sun.

forests illuminated by sunlight, by firelight, by moonlight. glowing figures walking amongst mortals. rain hitting leaves. overgrown gardens of wildflowers and roses. the distant sound of a wolf's howl. the sound of twigs breaking. blood on snow. the creak of a ship. the splintering of ice. dice hitting the table. the sound of laughter and drinking. singers and dancers performing. a fleeting glimpse of a glowing blue deer. a three eyed raven there and gone again. a golden dove shining in the sunlight. the cackle of a fox wearing bangles and earrings. the steady gaze of a blood coloured shark. the feeling of being held by someone long gone.

tsenpha is a completely fantasy world, with 8 (technically 9 but is it a continent if no one outside of it knows it exists? debatable) continents and a lot more countries.

the aesthetic is... a melting pot of fantasy, honestly. sort of high fantasy, sort of urban fantasy, sort of just its own thing. the individual aesthetics are bit more specific. astir, for example, is more quaint seaside town whilst dianthus is more horror in the woods. lilios, in comparison, has a very dnd rpg kind of vibe to it, in my opinion.

historically there were flying ships (like... boats... that flew), however the way of making them was lost and eventually they were all destroyed... until an adventuring party stumbled upon one of them whilst looking for cursed treasure, that is.

technology is very... victorian. mostly. somethings are more modern, like plumbing, but for the most part... it's old fashioned. and also powered by imps. except for the trains.

it's probably sucks when half of a continent has to deal with its long imprisoned dictator trying, and sort of succeeding, to break out of said prison because he found out the people who caused him to become a dictator (not literally, but their disappearance/presumed death led to all of his decisions) aren't actually dead.

love it when three sisters die and are resurrected/wake back up as a result of being god chosen, especially when only one realises she died, and they all just progressively more... corrupted? changed? by their powers and the fact they died.

sometimes people will be dared to enter this old mansion in the woods/mountains and 9 times out of 10 they're never seen again. rarely, however, someone will return but you won't get much out of them aside from "death", "sculpture", "spirit", and "galatea".

death always wins

there exists a place where people say death cannot touch you, where so long as you remain under the mountain, you will not cross the glade and enter the garden of death.

in a world where death is so revered, so accepted, there exists those who seek to prevent it, to put it off for another day.

it doesn’t quite work like that for, you see, when a death is predicted by a loulrívon, there is no place they will not go to see that their duty of predicting (and delivering) the end of life and the beginning of death is carried out.

they don’t take kindly to those who attempt to cheat them out of their prize, or those who attempt to play games with them and win; they don’t take kindly to those who run.

and so it goes that a man is fated to die by the appearance of a loulrívon. and so it goes that the man flees beneath the mountain where death is said to be unable to touch you. and so it goes that a loulrívon follows him beneath the mountain to drag him across the glade and into the garden of death herself.

it would have been much easier, much gentler, if he accepted his fate.

for, again you see, the loulrívon who follows him beneath the mountain, who dons a mask beneath a wedding veil to walk through a world where everyone wears a mask, has built a reputation amongst her fellows for being a little too sadistic, a little too cold, a little too ruthless.

the moral of this story, if there must be one, is that when the electric blue lilies bloom and a blonde dressed in white crosses your path, delaying the inevitable is an exercise in futility and how to make your last moments alive and breathing hurt.
