accidentally got inspired again to design covers for @seperis’s Down To Agincourt. thanks @milftaylorswift for the 80s scifi Ursula K Le Guin rip-off cover that led to these (a MONTH ago!) and everyone putting up with me obsessively sending 30+ SLIGHTLY different versions a day.
trying not to ramble here, but these were an attempt to solve a design puzzle: I think a lot about dta and fic/lit + genre demarcations, and while watching people play around with very different visuals for covers that all work, I wanted to translate the primary Feeling I got from reading it — and landed on ‘picking up one of the most unexpectedly enthralling reads for petty cash down the back of a charity book fair, clearly well-loved and yet by no one in particular’.
