“THERE’S NO HELL LIKE YOUR OWN HELL AND THERE’S NOBODY ELSE EVER TO SHARE IT WITH YOU. YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE THE ONLY PERSON LEFT ON EARTH; SOMETIMES YOU FEEL AS IF YOU WERE”
Preferred Pronouns: She/Her
Occupation: Assistant Manager at Dumbbells Gym
Portrayed by Liana Liberato
TRIGGER WARNING(S): AFFAIR, DEPRESSION, DEATH, VIOLENCE
I. What are your favourite and least favourite things about your hometown? How do they compare to how you feel about Edens Town?
“Favorite?” She scoffed, “What’s there to like about this shit hole? If you ask me about my least favorite, then everything.” She had hated growing up in Edens Town. For as long as she can remember she wanted to leave this place but never quite saw it as an option. And the little hope she had, she herself destroyed when she was disqualified from the National Boxing Championship. So now, Edens is home for a long time, whether she likes it or not.
II. How do you feel about your life? For example, your family, your job?
“It’s life, it is what it is.” This was probably the worst question of them all. She hated talking about her family, especially to a stranger. Although the first 7 years of her life was filled with fond memories, things started going bad after that. First was when her father decided they weren’t a good enough family for him and found a new one, second when Hannah left and although she supported her dreams she somehow felt the same hurt as before, third is when Michael moved out; in a way to similar fashion as their dad. He made his own new family and although he visited, it was never the same. Somewhere along the lines, there had been more bitter than sweet in her life, and that’s what she became.
Lana had never really been able to hold down a job properly until now. She has had countless odd jobs that she got fired for cause of her temper; until she met Kenny. The man had become the father she never had; from getting her a job at Dumbbells Gym to teaching her how to fight right. He was the first person to tell her to use her anger in the right place instead of suppressing it.
III. What are your biggest achievements and your biggest regrets?
She wasn’t sure if she had many achievements but if you asked her to be truly honest she would say learning ASL. She was never a great student in school, barely passing to graduate so when she took up learning ASL to communicate with her niece it was a larger task than she had initially thought. And to mention her biggest regret, it would be being unable to control her anger; specifically during the Championships. She had said and done a lot of things she regretted out of anger but the worst was when she beat the crap of an opponent outside the ring for taunting her. She has banned for life; and the rest is history.
IV. What is your biggest fear?
“I gotta say, these questions are stupid. You wanna try being a little more creative?” Maybe the questions were stupid but that’s not what irked her about them. It’s how the answered required to think of everything she hated thinking of. What she feared is what she would never acknowledge; pushing people away so far that they decide to give up on her. Although she never fully showed, she appreciated her siblings sticking by her no matter how bitter she had been towards them. She’s afraid of people leaving her like her father had, and now her mother.
V. What are your plans for the future?
In honesty, she didn’t have any. Coming back from Charlotte after being banned from the Championships she had lost all hope of any future. She just completely stopped thinking about it. She figured if you didn’t have hope, you won’t be disappointed. “What’s the guarantee I have a future?” She chuckled, you could never get a straight answer from her.
VI. Can you describe yourself in one sentence?
“This is fucking stupid… I’m leaving.”
