hello to everybody, this is my new baby Tessa Rhodes, my name’s Shy, and I’m really excited to be a part of Eden’s Town, I’ve got a lot of ideas for my little stubborn, sassy cupcake here, and can’t wait to connect and write with all of you and your muses. below is a little information about her, and some plots i’m on the lookout for:

she is twenty one, ( her birthday is  July 5th )

she’s lived in eden’s town her entire life..... not happy about it either.

she’s the little sister to tucker rhodes, and big sister to tyler rhodes. also unaware her dads an ass and had another child.

she was extremely close to her dad until his drama became public news, so now she tries really hard to steer clear of her family’s “legacy”, and is really trying to create her own in some sense. so really she’s trying to find herself currently.

she’s a dancer but she stopped dancing when she was eighteen, she had gotten a scholarship to NYU (never told anybody) , but she loves her family too much soooooo she decided to stay in eden’s town, and she fully regrets it.

because she moved out of her parents house the first chance she got, she got a full time job bartending, but that doesn’t really cover her bills either so, she’s a stripper just on the outskirts of town under an alias, and wears wigs to hide her identity so she doesn’t scar her brother ya know. which also allows her dancer background to come in handy, but the stripping helps with income.

she was a very optimistic person at one point, had an easy time with friendships, and general people skills, but since her dads news broke about his bank business she’s turned a little cold, and has a harder time connecting to people that aren’t her brother, or friends she had since before everything happened. she puts on a front for bar patrons and strip joint patrons as well, to help her earn a little extra cash.

she’s the type that even when struggling, she won’t ask for help because she’s determined to prove to her family she can make it on her own, even though she’s struggling real bad. she also went through a brief rebellious phase between ages 15-19 where she was constantly going to parties, staying out with people she shouldn’t be, and just overall getting into a bunch of mess.

ABOUT DOMINIC:

Comes from an old line of money. Youngest son of Margaret-Jean Good & Timothy Vanderbilt.

Growing up, he could only be describe as a good boy. Always got good grades, well behaved, did really well in sports, listened to his parents and was kind to everyone no matter where they came from.

He was really close with his older brother James, who unlike him was more reserved and kept to himself a lot. He is less close but very protective of his little sister, Elodie.

A lot of Dominic’s personality changed when his older brother committed suicide. The family was shocked. Nobody knew that the older Vanderbilt boy was struggling....at least nobody wanted to accept that. The family certainly didn’t. And they didn’t want to talk about it. If you walk into the Vanderbilt mansion, the chances of finding a picture of James were slim. The family went as far as paying people off to say that it had been an accidental death.

Dominic was only 11 at the time and he didn’t understand why his brother did what he did. Until he discovered his brother’s journal, in which he talked about all the pressure and feeling lost.

It was then that Dominic started rebelling a little bit. He started getting himself into trouble at school and later drinking  smoking and drag racing. The more his parents pushed him, the more he rebelled and pushed the family away. It wasn’t until his grandmother and his mother stepped in and confronted him that he finally eased up and actually listened to someone. They didn’t want to lose him, too. His parents just had a shitty way of approaching him.

Things changed, but only for a little bit. The closer he got to graduating, the more over-involved his parents got in his grades, the university he would be going to and what he would be majoring in. He didn’t have a lot of choice when it came to any of it. They were paying and he didn’t have access to his trust fund until he turned twenty-one.

He ended up going to Yale University at the worst time possible. Dominic didn’t want to leave his best friend behind, especially when his family was going through stuff. But he left him his car and made it a point to visit as often as he could and maintain constant contact with him.

He graduated with a business administration degree (no surprises there) and moved back to Edens Town shortly after. Within the year that he’s been back, Dominic opened The Grind in town, which was a franchise of the family business and he continues to throw parties with his best friend.

Personality

Reserved: When it comes to his family and his emotions, he doesn’t open up very much. There’s very little that he can say without bringing up his brother so he prefers to not say anything. Dom doesn’t want anyone feeling bad for him and he hates uncomfortable, emotional conversations. 

Romantic: Despite what many think, Dominic is a relationship guy. He like to have that one person that knows him well and whom he knows. He loves to shower them with gifts, affection and trips. It’s the one of the few times he lets his guard down.

Friendly: Dom is kind to everyone that he meets. His easygoing attitude makes it easy for him to befriend just about anyone. He’s not the type to have problems with someone unless that person disrespects or crosses the line with him. He is very caring, especially to those closest to him.

He hates feeling controlled or like someone is playing with him. And when he feels that way, he goes out of his way to do of what that person wants him to do and to piss them off. It doesn’t matter the kind of trouble that it could get him in.

Younger sister: Elodie about 18-20 years old. She is less of a wild child than her brother and more of a goody two-shoes and very spoiled. They’re not super close, but he is very protective of her.

Well, hello again! I’m Danielle and let me introduce you my bby Xavier! You can find some basic information about him under the cut. 

XAVIER VARGAS || 39 || JOURNALIST

tw: mentions of death and alcoholism 

So his full name is actually Xavier Emilio Vargas Morales (first name + second name + father’s first surname + mother’s first surname), but he’s known simply as Xavier Vargas. He believes it’s just easier to remember.

His mother was Cuban and his father was from Peru. However, they both moved to the US when they were very young, so Xavier was born in New York. He lived there for most of his life, actually. 

Both of his parents were well-educated and worked in the medical field, so they never had money-related problems. However, Xavier rarely saw his parents because they were working a lot. He loved them, obviously, but it messed him up a little bit: since he doesn’t want anyone to deal with that kind of loneliness, it became one of the reasons why he doesn’t have children even though he’d want to.

He spent most of his childhood reading various books about spies, and it became one of his dreams to become either a spy or a detective. Obviously, that didn’t work out so he decided to study journalism. His parents weren’t excited about that but he was determined to prove them wrong.

He had alcohol problems when he was in his 20s. The man managed to stop himself from losing control and destroying his life, though. And after that, he even got a job in the New York Times and is still freelancing for them. But he’s also writing for the local newspaper of Edens Town. 

And also, Xavier moved to Edens town only 6 years ago because his ex-wife got a job here. 

Almost as soon as he moved to Edens, Xavier’s parents died in a plane crash on their way to Spain. He was devastated and nearly got back to his bad alcohol habits. Managed to get back on track again. 

Anyway, it wasn’t the last trouble that he had encountered. So, his relationship with his wife was... interesting. They always loved each other, but they were having lots of fights. After one of those fights, she simply left him. And they got divorced. Xavier is still kinda blaming himself from not stopping her.

Aaand now he’s simply doing his best: writing various investigative and news articles, trying to enjoy life in a small town and just... move forward lol.

BRANDON BENNETT || 35 || DETECTIVE || AMBER VALLEY

tw: child abuse, death (car accident)

He was adopted by the bennett family when he was 5 years old

Being a part of a family had always been his wish and that’s what he thought he was going into --a loving family. However that was not the case. It seemed the Bennett had used him as a last result to save their marriage.

They give him everything that he wanted, except love. The couple was always arguing and would go as far as taking it out on him. he suffered verbal, mental and physical abuse at the hands of his adoptive parents. It got worst after their divorce three years later. His adoptive mother blamed him for something that was not his fault.

But he had a plan. he was going to save money and move out of that house. That’s exactly what he did when he was 16 and his girlfriend at the time (Brianna) told him that she was pregnant.

The two moved into a small studio and he worked a couple of different jobs so that he could provide for them. It left very little time for them to be together, but at least they had a home and their planned to bring their child into a loving household. He didn’t want his kids to suffer like he did.

As his daughter Briar kept growing, he knew that he was going to have to get a better job so that he could provide for their little family better. He started taking some classes at the local  community college and later enrolled in the police academy. He was a police detective by the time welcome his second daughter to the family. They were more financially stable as ell. 

Work took him away from his family for long hours, especially in the city, but he was doing what he needed to do in order to ensure the family’s safety and stability. It broke his heart that he had to miss a lot of firsts, games and school plays. But he did what he needed to do.

While they could’ve used a little more of dad around, the little family of four was happy. 

TRIGGER AHEAD !

Everything changed however when two years ago, his wife got in a fatal car accident coming from work. When Brandon got the call, he felt his heart shatter into a million pieces. The love of his life, the mother of his children, was dead. For twenty years, she was all that he knew. He felt like he too could die in that moment, but he had two daughters to think about. He had to be strong for them.

For months it was hard for them. His youngest daughter took it the worst. She still cries for her mother and when he does, he really doesn’t know what to do.

The loss made him want to find more information about his family. He hired a private investigator, which is how he got a name and used the police database to get a location. Devon Reynolds from Edens Town. He was locked up with only sometime left to be released. 

His oldest daughter suggested that the family should move out of Charlotte and start fresh somewhere small where they wouldn’t be constantly reminded of their loss and their mother.

He decided to move to Edens Town. He was able to transfer to the town’s police department without any issues and found a house on a good location. In April, the officially became residents of this little community and so far they’ve been adjusting well.

hello friends!! i am Margot and this is Rohan: he is my soft chaotic teacher son and I can’t wait to see where he fits into this group. I wanted to list a few fun facts about him to help you all get to know him better! 

PLOT-WISE: I’m pretty open to anything! Rohan is [john mulaney voice] new in town so he is settling in and getting to know everyone still (just as I am)! he is a fourth grade teacher so definitely reach out to me if one of your characters has a kid in his class this coming year! he also could use some friends so he doesn’t go and adopt 8 cats instead of making friends. He would do that.

ROHAN GABRIEL COY | 23 | FOURTH GRADE TEACHER

Grew up near Seattle, Washington and has a younger sister named Riley Coy (16), and has definitely taken Riley to more than one Twilight event out in Forks. Definitely for Riley and not for himself.

Personality types: Hufflepuff, Enneagram 2, ISFJ

Very warm-hearted, definitely an introvert, your quintessential Soft Boy who loves dates in libraries and bookstores and staying in to watch movies.

Lives in a small studio apartment downtown.

Has lived in Edens Town for two weeks and is amazed that he has somehow not yet adopted any cats. All he’s ever wanted is to live alone and own cats!! Get some cats my dude!! 

Played football in high school, but never took it seriously the way that most of his peers did. He still deals with feelings that he let down his coaches by not doing more with sports, but he’s happy with his career path.

Teaches fourth grade at Edens Elementary: his favourite things to teach to his students are literature and creative writing. He always makes sure his students have time to write creatively every day: it’s incredibly important to him that his students can express themselves creatively. He wants to create a safe place within a world that doesn’t always feel safe for students in his classroom. 

Keeps up on all the kid trends: he sees all the new cartoon movies, plays Fortnite (he’s terrible at it), and let his cabin at camp teach him how to floss. He does it so he can have something to talk about with his students: but honestly, he thinks some of the kid stuff is kind of awesome. 

Wears wildly patterned dress shirts to work every day: his favourite is a light blue one patterned with corgis. He seems to have one for every lesson they learn. He’s fashionably inspired by Ms. Frizzle, absolutely. (His dress shirt list includes: dinosaur skeletons, coffee cups, various plants, math equations, the print of the world map, and one with very small Poke balls that is a hit with his students.)

Can usually be found in the library or in a coffee shop, lesson planning and drinking plenty of tea.

- He has been raised in Charlotte, NC, with his big brother, Ted. Ted is 33 and if the boys used to be very close, they are not anymore. They barely talk, mostly because they don’t see life the same way. - Jamie used to go to Edens Town every holiday when he was little. His grandfather lived there and he came to spend some time with him. - After he got graduated from high school, he tried to study financial markets like his brother but he quickly realised that he was not made for this, so he stopped and moved in Edens Town at 21 to work with his grandfather. - His grandfather was a carpenter, he is the one who taught Jamie everything he knows. When he died, he took over his business. - Jamie can look broody at first sight, mostly because he isn’t really outgoing. But he is a nice person and once you’ve gained his trust, you can count on him anytime.
