If you’re seeing this for the first time, welcome to my blog where I’ll be expressing my truth while exposing the truth. A little about me; I’m a 24 year old male living in the secrecy of the desert sands. I love to cook, write, draw, paint, - the works. I’m also into filmmaking and video editing so perhaps one of my films will end up on here. I’m creating this blog after a 10 year Tumblr hiatus because I need a place to not only vent, but express my thoughts clearly and concisely with no bias. Writing in a paper journal isn’t much of my style, I feel as if my work can best be expressed digitally. I’m an ambivert leaning extrovert so being on here, secluding myself from reality to speak to strangers is way out of my comfort zone, but I need to let my voice be heard. I’d like to stay anonymous for privacy’s sake so if we become friends it might take time to get to know the real me. Again, this is out of my comfort zone but I need to speak.

i think anne magills paintings and Edward hoppers are like .. exact opposites. hoppers has the distinct clarity to it, a sharpness in the lines and the angles that contributes to an overwhelming sense of loneliness in almost every one of his paintings. even in his paintings that dont portray isolation there is a feeling of separation

loneliness vs. aloneness

magill, on the other hand, has this haziness to her paintings that emanates a warmth even when the subjects in her paintings are alone.

both paintings feel so comforting, and even in the second one where the girl is alone she is still in the presence of the visceral world around her - there’s a familiarity in magills painting that she captures nicely.

i guess i just think it’s interesting because hopper and magill are two of my favorite artists and they paint similar scenes with very different tones -

I’ve always thought that hoppers paintings are a snapshot of urban loneliness - the distinctness of it, the use of cool colors, the stark contrast between the people and their settings - whereas magills paintings seem almost like memories - their use of haziness and blurriness is exactly how someone wild remember something, indistinct, full of feeling and lacking detail

Actions speak louder than words and it’s clear as day that I was an embarrassment to you. In less than two months you have done everything with someone else that took me nearly a year to achieve. You obviously didn’t care about me and you still don’t. I get it. I’m a joke to you and I always was.
