it’s been too long. he feels like training and kingsman and– and everything was a lifetime ago. he aches. every part of his body, his fucking soul, aches.     “i ain’t lettin’ go,”     he murmurs, the words muffled into the fabric of her jacket. his eyes closed tight. maybe it’s to stop tears. maybe it’s because he’s been pressed against her for at least three minutes and he’s sure that merlin has left the room, since he closed the space between roxy and himself and flung his arms around her. god,  fucking hell,  he’d missed her. missed her so fucking much that he can barely breathe. can barely form thoughts through the emotion that threatens to get the better of him. can barely fucking stand it.     “i thought–  i thought you were fuckin’ dead,”     maybe he does cry, then. if she notices, she better not say a fucking word. he doesn’t say that, but his shoulders shake and he sniffs hard, tries to keep it under control before he leaves snot and tears all over her clothes. she holds on a bit tighter, though, and eggsy doesn’t think she minds.

she is so tired. she’s so goddamned tired and the only thing that is bringing her any peace is the vague sound of eggsy’s heart thrumming somewhere in his chest. “good,” she murmurs. roxy holds onto him with every ounce of strength she has, her forehead bowed into his shoulder, mourning the pain he’d had to feel, mourning her own two weeks of hell, spent disappearing from hospitals, wondering if the only real family she’d ever had had somehow betrayed her. more than that, she’d been afraid that she was the only one to survive. when the antidote began to arrive, little drones appearing throughout the sky in the neighborhood she’d hidden away in, she had wept with relief. it was indelible proof that kingsman had survived, and if kingsman had survived, eggsy had survived along with it–– of that she was certain. it had taken a little more time to track them down, but not much. with everything in such shambles, roxy was able to find out all she needed to know. still though, it’s difficult to grasp that this is all real. “i know,” she says quietly, flattening a palm reassuringly against eggsy’s back, gathering him a little closer. “i wasn’t sure if you... i thought i might’ve been the only one.” she lets out an improbable laugh, tears coming to her eyes, too. “i’ve never been so fucking glad to be wrong.”
