Kara and Diana are cute but I have such a hard time shipping them because I love Lena and she's in Kara's life now and I can't help but think that while Kara and Diana are being adorable together Lena is all alone in her office pinning over Kara and thinking she's not good enough. Unless it's an AU where she doesn't exist. But if she existed in the same universe in which Diana and Kara are a couple who would you pair Lena with?

i was going for an au where she is not in kara’s life, actually. but assuming she exists in kara’s life as her best friend but they’re not together bc kara is with diana, i’d ship lena with lucy. my 3 main reasons, in no particular order:

i think they’d get along really well from what i’ve seen of their personalities so far;

they’d understand each other’s stances when it comes to family - and the relationship they have/had with their own (both lost a mother, both have/had conflicting relationship with their respective fathers, both are in their respective sibling’s shadow in one way or another);

they proved to be loyal, someone you can depend/count on, and i think that’s something (someone) both of them need in their lives;

it’d also work out really well if you stopped to think about how kara most certainly would want to introduce her very best friend lena to lucy, who’s also one of her best friends, as soon as lucy came back from wherever she’s at

I mean Lena and Lucy... Two career women who were the second best sisters, who can kill with words in the boardroom and courtroom respectively, whose parents are anti-aliens bigots (general lane probs involved with cadmus too) and I mean Katie and Jenna? They don't know how to Not have eye sex on screen. They would be perfect for each other.

Well now that you make the case for it… Plus, I’m always a sucker for some successful career women (maybe it was watching so much of The Good Wife, but I do love a good lawyer AU and may or may not have a political AU that’s been in the works for a while). Plus, now that you’ve made me think about the actresses…they do both seem to radiate chemistry with whomever they play opposite.
