language learning culture is finding out that coding is just as fun!
language learning culture is hating the way loanwords and names from your target language are pronounced in your mother tongue and secretly correcting everybody in your head
Smartphones became popular in my English speaking country while I was living in Japan. Emoji will always have the original Japanese pronunciation to me.
wow, see, i guess i'm guilty as well! i must admit that i never even thought about the pronunciation of emoji. i wonder how many loanwords i unknowingly pronounce wrong and how many of them i don't even know are loanwords!
Korean learning culture is throwing a -요 at the end of every sentence juuuuust in case.
.
language learning culture is having someone ask you why you're "smiling like that" and the answer being grammar in your target language
.
Korean learning culture is desperately scribbling out romanization in textbooks to make it easier to read the words.

language learning culture is hating the way loanwords and names from your target language are pronounced in your mother tongue and secretly correcting everybody in your head
language learning culture is not being able to recall the word in you mother tongue while knowing exactly what it is in your target language
language learning culture is rewatching all your favourite films in your target language
language learning culture is the feeling of exhiliration when you see a newly acquired word out in the wild
Introduction Post
Hi!
I've seen these x-culture-is blogs all over tumblr but I couldn't find one specific to language learning. So I decided to make my own!
You can send asks starting with "language learning culture is" or something more specific like "ASL learning culture is" (look at this blog for examples) and they will be posted here. This way you can share common experiences with other language learners! Everybody is welcome, regardless of your level or the number of languages you're learning.
