There is nothing quite like being back in your own bed after being away for so long.
Alistair is out of the hospital and safe at home (currently passed out with his head on my lap. We were watching a movie and he fell asleep twenty minutes into it). He still can't use his right arm and his grip is rather weak at the moment, but he is home and in all honesty that alone has brought me so much relief. He has some pain meds that are keeping him quite comfortable. I have had to chase him out of the kitchen a few times, including once when I woke up to find him trying to make pancake batter at two in the morningâŠ
We switch to a lower dose of the medication tomorrow, so hopefully he will be an easier patient then. Not that I am complaining. He could be much worse, I'm sure. I know he was only trying to not wake me since I have been wanting to take care of making meals and such for him while he is recovering, but⊠2AM seems a bit early for pancakes in any regard. Although, I did finish making them for him, even though he fell asleep on the couch before they were done.
We have already had a number of people asking when they can come visit, and that will probably be an option in a couple days. I think a few days of quiet and getting used to this new routine is much needed, but I am sure Alistair will be happy to see friendly faces very soon. I am thinking about setting up a small party within the week for him. Bit difficult to throw a surprise party with him being in the apartment, but⊠Maybe I can figure something out.
...Alistair just woke up and immediately began reaching down my shirt asking for the âpopcornâ, so⊠it's been an interesting three days with this level of medication. Needless to say, I have quite a large amount of things to hold over his head for a long time that he may or may not remember doing.
