Ryland Grace who feels guilty for missing earth. Erid with its thick atmosphere doesn't let light through so when the Eridians replicate day/night cycles they provide him a night sky with constelletions. But they aren't his and they aren't real. Do you think he would feel guilty about feeling homesick and unsatisfied in a place that was specifically catered and built for him? To look up at the sky to stargaze but feel sick to his stomach when he realises he'll probably never see any of the other familiar planets from the solar system even though he's the first person to go far beyond it? Guys im seeing so many trolley question allegories for stratt's decision but let me make this more harrowing for you :)

In front of you there are two tracks. The trolley is charging at the whole world, humanity and various ecosystems included. You will watch it freeze but youve been put in charge to save as much people as you can so you make an option to pull the lever to condemn 3 people in hopes that in 26 years they will have a solution (a long-shot) they found in a separate star system and will send them back in time to save slightly more than half the population that likely remains. You don't know of they'll be able to find a solution or even get there alive. You don't even know if the solution will be implementable for your situation. 3 people have already lied down on the tracks with backups but an unforseen consequence leads to only 2 remaining crew. Do you tie your second in command, down to the tracks kicking and screaming? He's begging you to stop and reconsider, "there are other volunteers" he screams but they'll never have his ability from training or knowledge in 3 days. "You're murdering me!" You've done worse. "I will sabotage the mission" he won't, he's too good for that but you cannot risk anything so you will have to remove his memories. He's still begging and making everything harder than it needs to be. You have to save the world. You pull the lever and hope it's worth it.

You're Eva Stratt and you will need to wait at least 26 years to know if it was worth it.

I need to out this into words cause I've been thinking about it so often

Vox was so close.

To waging war on heaven and maybe even winning but he threw it all away for Alastor and that is so baffling and gut wrenching to me.

I need you to picture it like this: he controlled propaganda—that was his main shtick—he wasnt the strongest sinner in hell but he was able to turn hell against its current rulers because he had control over media and was charismatic and convincing. He literally had the support of most people because he made good points. Vox Populi works so well cause he is giving the people’s want a voice. Heaven was literally massacring its population. And when hell realised it could fight back, of course their gonna go after the "revolutionist" that promises them that change rather than their king that doesn't do anything and their princess that keeps trying to mediate with them. This is hell. They want revenge. And when the angels came down with gift baskets ??? They were lucky they weren't torn apart then and there like imagine apologising for genocide using gift baskets. What they needed was reparations or literally anything else could have been better. Point is, Heaven made an enemy and Vox fanned the flames even further. And during the final fight he was in possession of a weapon so powerful that it could break the barrier made by 7 other angels. He probably wouldn’t have won the war because his weapon was powered by Lucifer who technically isn’t the strongest person to exist but he could’ve done irreparable damage and that threat alone could have him revered. It literally doesn’t matter if he had ulterior motives his actions would have been empowering enough. He was so close to starting a war and come close to winning it but he threw ALLL of that away just to get back at Alastor. They make me feral. What the fuck. All those ratings, everything he had worked, becoming the strongest sinner in hell (however brief) all just thrown out. Obviously we see Alastor kick his ass in that fight but this manipulative bastard could’ve spun it in so many ways to make the public see him as the enemy and continue to garner support for himself. He didn’t care about any of that. He was willing to damn himself. I can’t do this anymore oh my god.

I whole heartedly expected Velvette and Valentino to abandon him after that fight but the fact that they didn’t is so heartwarming?? Why are the evil irredeemable villains a nice found family.
