I have an oc whose mother was a munchkin mix. Her name was Littleflame because she got the short stature from her mother’s side and she was a ginger tabby.
i love this! a perfect example of a name that could actively capture the personality and stature of a cat.
What would -moon as a suffix symbolise?
-moon as a suffix would symbolize a very wise cat, or something along those lines! its an unusual suffix, and might only be given during special circumstances or situations!
Hello everyone! We would like to say thank you for all of the support and attention this blog has gotten, and that we love helping you name your cats! We’ll get to the asks in our inbox as soon as we all can! The mods have been very busy lately so answering may be slow! Thank you for being patient!

I have a ginger cat with a huge white patch on her side. Since there are cats like Blackfoot/star, would it be okay to name her Whitespot?
yes definitely!! thats a lovely name!
- mod foxpaw
Could you rate the name Wolfsong? She's a dilute tortie with yellow eyes.
we love that name!!! -song is one of our favorite suffixes!

I have this oc, everything else is planned out but I can't find a good prefix. My character is a silver and white tabby with blue eyes. I was thinking of stripe or heart as his suffix.
i love those suffixes!
for prefixes, consider: birch-, breeze-, dew-, dove-, drift-, echo-, feather-, mist-, silver-, swift-, or rain-!
What would the prefix Aspen symbolize?
ASPEN- : reserved, intelligent, a natural leader, responsible, reliable
(Anon asking if a cat could be named after sounds they commonly make) Thank you for answering! I was asking because I do what I was describing, I change what noises i make to try and convey what I want (like nnnnnnn would be disagreekng or a no, or me wanting something), and yea h
of course anon!!! (this is a little personal but i myself do things similar because im autistic! so i really love considering similar quirks or habits in cats! its totally a thing that could happen and i love it)

Say a cat joins a Clan, and they say random sounds (such as i, h, or n) randomly in longish bursts to try and convey how they feel about certain things, expeccially when uncomfortable talking. Do you think part of their rename would be after it? (Like Buzzpelt, Soundclaw, Stormbuzz, Blackbuzz, Nightcall, etc..)
Oh definitely if it was a big part of them! I’m also especially fond of prefixes like Echo- and Song- (or even as suffixes!) for things like this!

What do you think about the prefix Vulture-? Also, could the suffix -flight be used for an adventurous cat...?
i loooove the prefix vulture- !!! and yes! -flight could definitely be used in that context, its one of our favorite suffixes actually!

So, I need a name for him! His “kittypet” name is Tabby, and his eyes are yellow. He is kind and sleeps a lot, and prefers to only fight when necessary. He is kinda clumsy and likes climbing, but isn’t very good at it. He’s also curious and fast. He’s a bit small, too. I was thinking Darkpath or Darkheart, but those sound kinda…Evil, and he’s anything but that. I’m also trying to name his brother (who isn’t an actual cat). His brother is a solid black tom with short fur and yellow eyes. He likes sleeping (even more than his brother does!) and can be grumpy at times, and prefers to be alone.
@lukeisfluffy
He sounds like a nice cat!!
Here are some prefixes:
dusk-, dark-, adder-, aspen-, thistle-, shade-, flint-, dust-, marsh-, bramble-, and beech-
Some suffixes:
-heart, -path, -rush, -stripe, -wing, -strike, -fall, -step, and -skip **
** usual suffixes such as -storm, -claw, -fur, and -pelt are also good!
Some names we put together:
duskfall, darkwing, adderfall, aspenheart, thistlewing, shadeskip, dustheart, marshstep, and shadepath
*** darkheart is a beautiful name, actually! “heart” is a very powerful suffix with tons of meaning!
As for his brother, perhaps names such as Nettletail, Owlshade, Ravenwhisker, or Thornbelly? Since they seem to look similar, you could honestly switch similar ideas around for both of them!
Hey! I have this beauty and I’m having trouble with a name. I would really love your help! She’s very confindent and playful, despite her disablility. She was born without her front left leg. She can be very stubborn and determined. Right now, in the rp she is used for she is a kit, but as she grows, im planning on making her sarcastic and more outspoken. ^-^
@heavenforebid-captain
We love her!
Here are some prefixes:
deer-, rain-, fawn-, finch-, hawk-, moth-, mallow-, sorrel-, lark-, dust-, bright-, sky-**
**because of her striking blue eyes!
Suffixes:
-cloud, -bright, -light, -wish, -storm, -heart, -skip, -step
**suffixes like -fall, -flight, -spring can also work since they’re mainly suffixes for very playful personalities!
Some names we like:
deerheart, mothlight, mallowheart, larkskip, hawkwish, fawncloud
I have an apprentice character, Nightpaw, she's black with bright amber eyes and has markings like a black panther (she's a bengal/bombay mix, ex-kittypet). She's quite clumsy, but a good hunter when she's focused and a fantastic climber. I was thinking Nightfall for her warrior name, but I wanted to see if you had any suggestions.
nightfall would be an excellent name! we couldn’t have thought of a better one ourselves~!
- mod cloudfur
I have a she-cat named Petalvine.
oh we definitely think thats a lovely warrior name!!!!
What do you think about "vine" as a suffix?
i’ve never heard it before as a suffix, but it think it could make a nice one! i personally like vine as a prefix as well!!
