I understand it logistically, but it's very funny to me that kiryu will be beating up some random guys on the street and know each of them by name, all while one of his own staff members is just referred to as "Masochistic Man" throughout the entire game

Yakuza 3 is the best one because it lets you pick a worm from out of the ground and eat it. You take damage from this and there is no benefit.
