I cannot get over how much Thaisha saved everyoneās asses by running the Halovars off in episode 31.
Because even if the dice gods had been on their side and the Magpies kicked ass, they still attacked two Halovars and a member of the Revolutionary Council. The rebellion would be officially kicked off, and they still donāt have the supplies theyāre waiting on from Timmony. Azune and Hal would have to go into hiding. There would be no chance of getting backing from the Council, because one of their members had been caught in the crossfire.
And in terms of public sentiment, none of the witnesses would have any context for what happened. All they saw was the Halovar forces walk up to a tavern and get met with a hail of crossbow bolts. The Photarch could spin that any way she wanted, and the Magpies would have a hard time countering that narrative.
But instead, what everyone saw was two Halovars, forty soldiers, and a Council member get sent scrambling by a stern word and a bit of lightning from Thaisha. Thereās no way for the crowd to interpret that beyond āThe Halovars donāt have as much control of the city as they want us to think. The Lloys, and the Druids, still hold more sway here.ā Itās an incredibly humiliating setback for the Halovars, and itās caused friction between them and the Council that the Schemers can exploit. And for the Magpies, itās bought them crucial time to wait for reinforcements and continue laying the groundwork for the rebellion.
So everyone say thank you, Thaisha, for being such a stone cold badass.

Looks like @staff mistakenly censored this comic, which is an ironic and very funny thing to happen
Here it is again. You might want to save it just in case an accident like that happens again
EDIT: HMM. LOOKS LIKE OP WAS BANNED TOO. WHAT A FUNNY. IRONIC. ACCIDENT
The pathologization of anger needs to be talked about. What do you mean my therapist is telling me that thereās something āchemically wrongā with me because I am still angry about my mom DYING OF COVID.
of course Iām still angry? My mom and 1.3 million other Americans are dead and you want me to shoot sunshine out of my ass about it?
āBut Itās been 3 years since she died, you have complex griefā yeah and she was on a ventilator for 11 days and she kept writing āI am scaredā and āI donāt want to dieā on a notepad over and over again. While you were still going out unmasked and unvaccinated and coughing all over each other, I was living a nightmare I couldnāt fucking wake up from. And every single day Iām reminded of it in the form of āhaha wasnāt the pandemic such a wacky time hahaā and āIām not getting a booster you canāt make me 𤪠(nobody asked)ā and āitās not real they made the numbers up!!!ā
āYouāre not copingā Ok hereās the deal; Iāll stop feeling this anger when we have a national memorial (we donāt) or a cdc equipped to stop it from happening again (we donāt) or a population that takes a deadly disease seriously BEFORE it effects them personally (WE DONāT!)
until then, Iām pretty sure my anger is A COMPLETELY NORMAL HUMAN REACTION given the facts at hand
Boris wonāt stop annoying me for dinner even though dinner is in 40 minutes so Iām trying to teach Boris when to expect dinner using base-bean
