Update of the “Beijing” coat with the Yunnan fabric for a private client
Another dress made out of pleats, with the final printed pattern as a belt. Simple and comfortable.
Working on the pleats inside the geometrical shape, using the first workshop pattern printed on silk. The pattern wasn't fully printed, which results a nice kind of gradient on the scarf.
Finally, the pleated skirt with silkscreen pattern on the belt. Mix of the geometrical architecture shapes and the softness of the pleats.
Moke up time for this pleated skirt... hard to find the right shape!
A set of top and trousers, using the Idle Beats new printed fabrics pink and turquoise. Trousers, pockets and top designs forllowing architectural shapes, simple and elegant.
First dress made with the patterns printed at the workshop : apple green and turquoise blue! Design of the dress (and following collection) inspired by the geometric shape of Shanghai old houses facades...
This summer's gonna be NEON-FIZZ!!! After the workshop, I defined the colors and ordered 20 pieces of printed fabric to IDLE BEATS, to start the new collection!
Screenprint workshot at IDLE BEATS Studio, to print 2 patterns on a bigger scale on fabric. Test of colors, of fabrics, of the technic ... lot of fun !

2012 inspiration : the indigo printed cotton from Yunnan province.
This fabric is made with the BATIK method, known in China since 2000 years. After waving the white cotton, the patterns are drawn or stamped by hand with hot wax. Once it’s cold, the fabric is soaked into a cold bath of INDIGO, which allows the cotton to be tinted with this intense blue color everywhere apart from the waxed patterns. Then the bath is boiled, the wax dissolves and the pattern appears “in reserve” white from the original cotton out of the Indigo blue.
