Still the best mascara I've ever used.
Favorite matte liquid lipstick.
My favorite hair products of the year.
Old Dog, Not so New Trick
After all these years of owning a hot air brush, it finally occurred to me to use it slowly, to take my time holding it along the strand and letting it do its proper job.
I used to run it through my hair in a hurry, and though it would dry my hair a bit, it wouldn’t be soft and shiny. Now that I am mature and take my time with things, I’m getting the actual desired results. I feel like an idiot.
I’ve been using the John Frieda hot air brush. Looks something like this:
Now that I know to hold it longer and move it slowly, my hair dries faster and holds its style much longer.
You live, your learn.
Glossier!
I’ve tried out two Glossier items so far: Generation G lip balm in JAM and CRUSH.
My preference is CRUSH. Looks like this:
Ignore my open tabs.
I tried JAM, but it just didn’t look so great with my particular skin tone. It ended up looking too light in the middle, so it was like when you’ve put on a dark lipstick, eaten something, then didn’t touch it up. But CRUSH provides a more even flushed look.
One thing I’ve noticed is that unless my lips are exfoliated and smooth, I don’t get an even coverage with this lip balm. Still, it’s really convenient in that I don’t even really need a mirror to apply it. It’s really hard to mess up the application with this lip balm.
What I love about the Glossier site is that they provide three videos of girls who have light, medium, and dark skin tones, and this helps you get some idea of how the product will actually look on your own skin. Granted, three skin tones don’t cover the whole spectrum, obviously, but it’s a start and it’s helpful anyway.
Next paycheck, I’m going to test out their stretch concealer and maybe their cleanser.
Wunderbrow?
Have any of you tried Wunderbrow? I ordered one from Amazon yesterday as one of their Prime Day deals, so I’m looking forward to trying it out. I’m pretty lousy with fixing up my eyebrows to go with current trends, but I’m trying!
Been using Benefit’s Gimme Brow and recently got a sample of their other brow product, Ka-brow cream gel. I like those so far. Considering that I’m not one for doing dramatic eyebrows, I can create a lowkey look that gets me through the day.
Didn't capture the eyeliner well but here's what I'm wearing tonight: Tattoo Liner and Foundation by Kat Von D Matte Lipstick by E.L.F.
Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner
I don't understand the complaints about not being able to remove this eyeliner. I've removed it very quickly with Neutrogena's eye make up remover or with Ponds Cold Cream. What's the problem? Also, I HAVE noticed that some tubes of this eyeliner are defective. The product hardens and is useless. Either that or it's so gummy that it doesn't glide on. I don't know if bad or old batches are being sold, or if there is an issue with the ingredients. However, when I've had a good tube, it's gone on perfectly. I almost Amy Winehoused my eyes one day just because I could. Seems that this eyeliner is mostly hit or miss.
Crazy surprised by the effectiveness of this!
Its all fun and games until you see your makeup in natural light
I HATE THIS
Kim Kardashian West for Vogue Spain August 2015
I love when she does the natural look. I still haven't fully mastered this technique.
Now here we have beautiful lashes, dope eyeliner, and fierce brows. Super on point A++++
contouring is getting so xtreme
This is too much
I thought this was a joke til the last shot…
I agree. What a pain in the purse!
