The rookie jolted up a bit at the sudden voice calling his name. He turned to the source and was actually suprised to see that Shadow was the source. He didn’t expect the ebony hedgehog to actually know his name…nor his existence to be honest. Gadget wouldn’t blame Shadow if he didnt, he was just a kid after all. Why bother?

Gadget nodded his head, confirming that yes that was his nickname that he has, before he tilted his head as he looked at the wispon the hedgehog was holding. So the overpowered alien agent, his friends’ words not his, wanted to know about the weapons? And he asked him? Out of all hundreds of rookies, more capable than him, and Shadow just came across this small anxious wolf. He didn’t know to whether be excited or just keep being in denial.

The crimson wolf, not knowing if Shadow knew ASL, holded up an index finger in the neutral fingerspelling position so the finger is pointing up, palm-side of his hand facing forward. He made a twisting rotational movement before ending with the palm-side of the hand facing backward towards himself. After that, he twisted his hands together before making the kid gesture of a gun with his index finger and thumb out while his other fingers are folded, he pointed it at Shadow and made a small pwoosh sound as if he was firing the gun.

╳ ┊ u l t i m a t e » Honestly he had walked inside the Resistance HQ to look for Rouge. But she wasn’t here so what else is there to do other than look around a bit? It was pretty quiet for once & the only other person in the room at the moment was Gadget. Shadow didn’t really care if the wolf was just a kid, he seemed capable enough to explain the Wispons to him.

At first the hedgehog thought he wouldn’t get an answer at all & when the other started doing sign language he was a bit confused. Then it was like a small part of his brain had activated because he realized he could understand what Gadget was trying to say. Weird, he didn’t know understanding ASL was part of his ‘features’.

The explanation was a bit childish but it was fine. “I figured as much.” He put the weapon on a nearby table. “What are you doing here all alone?”

There was a more complicated explanation to the wispons like how it gets powered by the wisps and how many times you can use it to travel around faster, the different types of wispons and their different abilities yadda yadda yadda but Gadget could only say the first simple little thing to see if Shadow actually understood his sloppy ASL, since it's a bit more different than spanish sign language.

The sign that the hedgehog did understand ASL sparked the wolf's gold eyes to lit up a bit. Gadget did tilt his head at Shadow's next question though. Oh right. Ever since the war ended, people barely come here anymore, though he knew Amy's base from across the city was still active but it was more of a fix it base than a resistance base. This particular base was nearly abandoned with a few visits from the blue blur or his friends. Why was this wolf cub here instead of somewhere else less gloomy and rusty looking? Well

Gadget pointed to himself before both of his hands formed a thumbs up and made a jerky movement upward then both hands slowly pointed down to the floor with their index fingers.
