“What fun would it be not to run?” He asked with a grin. He quickly changed into a massive purplish cat with red eyes and sat beside her, “running is all the fun little pup.”

She rose a brow “Little Pup?” She asked him. “You can change whenever you like?” she asked him, feeling the tingle increasing. “Just so you know… i can’t talk like a human when in wolf form.”

He thought a moment than stood up and offered her his hand, “Let’s go fair maiden. We can figure the rest out on the sand. Tell me… do you like to run?”

She rose a brow “You are a peculiar thing.” She said and took his hand. She looked at Granny and smiled “I will be safe.” She said to the elderly woman. She got up and walked to the door with him. “Why do you so wish to spend time with me, all of a sudden?”

He grinned brightly, wildly and led her to the beach. When they arrived he watched as the sun began to set, "look there."

After a while of watching it the crazed grin on his features parted for words, "because every animal needs someone to run with."

He could see how she felt about their relation, “you know… I’m 16yrs younger than you. You pretty much were an only child.”

He nodded at her comment, “know of a place I can rest?”

     ”Right.” Regina states, the word escaping her with a sigh. “Granny’s is just down main street.” she states not quite sure whether or not she wanted her son around her power hungry brother, barely knowing him herself. “If you need money I am more than willing to help out.”

Fey was perched on a tree, resting after a long day of causing mischief and havoc. It was a cool night and the cold air made her pixie like wings twitch. The sprite let out a sight before looking up to the night sky, for some reason star gazing always seemed to calm her down. But her attention was drawn to something on the ground below.

Down below, a cat bigger than a horse wandered in search of food. The cats red eyes scanned the shrubs and bushes for anything worth a bite. In time it came upon the tree and sat beneath it with a heavy sigh.

Nathaniel thought for a moment, than he shrugged, “I’m not really sure. I spent a long time as a blasted powerless animal. I suppose now i am simply trying to discover if I even am anyone. Or if mother succeeded in making me simply an object and not a person.”

He could see how she felt about their relation, "you know... I'm 16yrs younger than you. You pretty much were an only child."

He nodded to her question than turned that smile to her, “I meant the beach where all is empty. Trust… The moon causes another side to me as well. You will not be the only strange on there.”

"I still have to get there and back.. unless you are saying leave soon and stay the night out there on the beach." She said to him. "Is that what you are suggesting?" She asked, raising a brow at him.

He smirked, “Yes… i suppose so. Well you became a queen. I became a king. Zelena got a chair of power. We all would have made mother proud i suppose. Except… Zelena lost her chair due to pains from the mother, you lost your throne over a girl that your mother used against you and my throne was taken from me by the mother. So we can only really say that she loved herself. We were pawns. we all ended up someplace we didnt quite see ourselves, Zelena especially.”

He smirked at the reference. truth be told he’d rather have Regina’s company over their eldest sibling any day, “So what become of you now than?”

     ”I never lost my throne, I gave it up willingly like I did with the position as the town’s mayor, I don’t understand why you hold onto the theory that I lost my throne or was tricked into loosing it but so be it.” 

     ”What becomes of me now? I am not defined by my title nor my position. I know who I am, who I will be, title or not. What about you? If you never truly had a goal, a reason?”

In no time he had taken a seat beside her and without looking at her said, "think I could get a room? It says there are no vacancies but maybe someone will be kind and share ya?"

He was being stared at as no one had seen him before.

Except that I was a monster in a cage. I was a pet to her not a child. I do not believe I can even understand what having a mother is actually like.”

He had not meant to reveal himself so vulnerably but it happened.
