Aleksander Rzewuski, aka Alex-Ceslas Rzewuski (Polish, 1893-1983), Moon Madness, Tatler Magazine, April 1922.
Aleksander Rzewuski was a painter and illustrator associated with the Art Deco era. In the early 1920s he produced elegant and imaginative illustrations for magazines, including Tatler magazine. His work often combined stylized figures, theatrical compositions, and decorative elements typical of the Art Deco aesthetic. Rzewuski later became known primarily as a portrait painter and spent much of his career working in Western Europe. Moon Madness (1922) by Aleksander Rzewuski reflects the glamour and fantasy of the 1920s. Created for Tatler, the stylized figures and flowing movement are characteristic of Art Deco magazine illustration.
