Would you like another niche take about tickling preferences from me? No? Okay here we go-
There is something... devastatingly appealing to me about relaxed laughter as a response to being tickled.
Don't get me wrong, like... any kind of response is valid. Some people don't laugh but still enjoy it, some people screech and squeal, some are just constant gigglers. I truly can appreciate any response, but I just don't see a ton of appreciation for... easy, almost casual laughter, but I love it.
I typically imagine it, as I often imagine tickling, in a pretty domestic setting... like cuddling on the couch and watching funny videos with someone. Maybe it's late at night, and they're in that giggly, dopey state people sometimes get in when they're tired. They're laughing pretty easily already from the memes... and you know they like being tickled, so you start tickling them. If you're ticklish and you're already laughing from something else, it tends to be really easy to just slip into tickle laughter, you know?
They're already laughing, and as you tickle them, they just laugh harder. But they're tired, and they're already tucked pretty close to you as you're cuddling... so they really don't have the space or strength to fight (or if they offer any resistance, it's very easily controlled by just grabbing one of their wrists and getting them with your free hand.) Their laugh is woolier than usual -- there's an undercurrent of sleepiness that you can actually hear. Maybe they're normally frantic as they laugh, so this is a sharp contrast to their typical behavior, but a welcome one. A sweet one, because they trust you, they're comfortable, and they just want to laugh until they're tired enough to sleep. And you get to be the person to give that to them, to do that for them. Like... that's such a special thing...?
I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but there's something so honest and true about this kind of scenario in my eyes, and it's one I think about a lot.
Okay hear me out. Since in s3 we had nam-gyu and myung gi as a surprising duo. Nam-gyu was also HELLA hyper almost the whole time. What if its lee!nam-gyu and ler!myung gi and myung gi was like "dude calm down" and accidentally tkled him and realized that could be the answer to how to get him to calm down. It could be during the game or after I dont really care which one.

A/N: I made it so that in this version, the tickles are happening when in the original Myung-gi killed Hyun-ju, so here all four ladies and Young-sik make it out :3
Screams echoed throughout the winding halls. Blood splattered against the cutesy cartoony wallpaper. People in red chased people in blue, bloody footprints were all over the floor…
You’d expect everyone here to be filled with dread; you either had to kill someone, or avoid being killed. And yeah, everyone was miserable.
Except for Nam-gyu?? Somehow???
Myung-gi dramatically sighed and stopped walking. So did his “partner in crime”, but not without aggressively grabbing 333’s shoulders, because why the hell wouldn’t he?
“Can you stop that?” Myung-gi snapped, shoving the other away. Nam-gyu only giggled in response, probably amused at Myung-gi’s reaction.
“Why’d we stop? Did you see anybody?” It was blatantly obvious that this man was higher than the god damn sun, and his high energy was really getting on Myung-gi’s nerves.
“No, but if you don’t be quiet, we won’t see anybody because they’ll hear us.”
Nam-gyu leaned on player 333’s shoulder, twirling his knife in one hand and tilting his head. “Where’s the fun in that?” He whined. “I like the chase~ you sure you don’t want one?” He held up the necklace again.
Myung-gi pushed Nam-gyu away with a sharp “No.” Player 124 had to regain his balance, grabbing a wall to regain his footing. He giggled again.
“You’re so boring, MG Coin.” Nam-gyu groaned. Myung-gi only rolled his eyes and kept walking.
“No, I’m just not a drug-dependent idiot. Now come on, and be quiet this time.”
For once, Nam-gyu was actually quiet. It was almost peaceful- no, wait, never mind. A terrified man in blue sprinted by in a nearby hallway with a manic looking woman in red on his heels.
At least Nam-gyu wasn’t talking like a deranged toddler anymore, though.
The two stalked through the maze of colorful wallpaper and blood-smeared floors. They had already, technically, killed who they needed. Nothing was stopping the two of them from heading back to the dorm. But it was Nam-gyu’s idea to stay and kill off a few more players to make the amount of prize money higher, and well… it wasn’t a terrible idea. So Myung-gi agreed. But so far, they weren’t having the best luck, because every person they saw was already dead or actively being killed by another seeker.
So they kept wandering, listening for any signs of hiders, perking up at the sounds of screams. Myung-gi was completely focused.
Not Nam-gyu, though.
“…Since you were a youtuber, did you have a cringe intro or outro or whatever? With effects and music and stuff?” He laughed when Myung-gi slowly turned around with a look that practically said what the fuck. “And did you do merch givaways too?” He laughed a little louder at that thought. The stupid comments and noise in general were starting to get Myung-gi really pissed off.
“What the hell did I tell you about shutting up?” He angrily whispered. There was probably no point in whispering now, though.
“Whatever, but like, did you sell like… hoodies with your name in big bright letters n shit…?”
“Please stop”
“Ohoh wait, you look like the type of guy to sell shit on redbubble or whatever it’s called!”
“No I don’t!” Myung-gi snapped. “I- this is stupid. Can we please focus? I’m seconds away from leaving you behind.” While he stared at Nam-gyu with an aggressive gaze, Nam-gyu was giddy and grinning.
“Okay, whatever, calm down. Is this how you handled hate comments?”
Myung-gi didn’t even bother reacting to that. He just kept walking once again, not caring whether or not Nam-gyu followed.
Another few seconds of quiet… if this was gonna be a cycle, he was NOT liking it…
“heAAH!” Myung-gi jumped and almost dropped his knife as he felt Nam-gyu tase his sides from behind. He whipped around again to see Nam-gyu cackling and pointing at him like this was the funniest thing ever. What a looney toon!
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Myung-gi exclaimed as he moved back a step in case Nam-gyu tried that again.
“You’re ticklish!” Nam-gyu yelled that a little too loud for Myung-gi’s comfort, so he grabbed 124 by the collar of his shirt and pushed him up against the wall.
“You are actually the worst person ever.” Myung-gi hissed. He honestly had no idea what he was going to do with Nam-gyu, since he was pretty sure that attacking fellow seekers was against the rules. But he really wanted to just… flatten him with a giant boulder and feed him to a chihuahua or something!!
“Owchh, my feelings…” Nam-gyu tilted his head and pretended to look sad. “I’m just tired of seeing you constantly pissed, man, and this is the thanks I get?”
“You’re acting like a child right now.” Oh Thanos, please reincarnate, Myung-gi thought. So that you can take your little minion back.
“Which one of us is shoving the other around after being poked, huh? Maybe you’re the child here.” He moved his hands to jab Myung-gi’s sides again, but 333 grabbed his wrists just in time.
“I am genuinely going to beat your ass if you don’t stop.”
“Are you though?” Nam-gyu replied. “I thought you weren’t allowed to do that. Hehe.”
So that’s why Nam-gyu was… ragebaiting him, because he wouldn’t have to suffer the consequences.
Myung-gi obviously wasn’t going to let this slide. He was smart! He could think of a way to make this rabid animal leave him alone. But really, what other option was there besides violence?
“Why so quiet, MG? Thinking about how you yelped like an injured puppy because of how tiiiicklish you are?”
…Sure, why not.
Myung-gi grabbed both of Nam-gyu’s wrists in one hand and dug into his side with his free hand. And the scream he got from it was priceless.
Nam-gyu immediately dissolved into frantic giggles, curling forward. “fuUHUHUHUCK!”
“This works, I guess…” Myung-gi said to himself. Based on Nam-gyu’s reactions, he was sure to chill the fuck out after this.
“WhahaAAHAT the- AhahaHEHEha- HEHELL ARE YOHOU DOIHIHING??” It was almost impossible to tell what Nam-gyu was saying as he tried to form a sentence through his laughter. He tried kicking Myung-gi, but 333 only backed up a little just in time so that 124 lost his balance and slid to the ground.
Myung-gi crouched and kept his hands firmly on Nam-gyu’s shoulders. “I can’t punch you, so this is the next best thing.”
“waitwaitwait- yohou know i was just joking, right? Come on man, w-we don’t have to do all this-“
“For the last time, stop talking!” It was so satisfying seeing how Nam-gyu immediately shut up as soon as he started tickling him again, this time targeting his stomach.
Well- he didn’t necessarily shut up, technically, since he was laughing hysterically, but at least he wasn’t talking anymore! And at this point, that was just enough for Myung-gi. His newest priority was humbling this little shit- fuck the hiders.
“You have no right to be talking about me being.. ticklish.” Myung-gi said. “Look at yourself! I’m hardly even doing anything.” He couldn’t help but grin at how red in the face Nam-gyu was.
“GeHEHet thHEe FuhuhuHUCK OHAHHAFF!” Nam-gyu kicked his legs and tried pulling at Myung-gi’s wrists as his fingers wiggled into his belly. “AHAHA FUHUHAHACK! *snrk*”
“Did you just snort?” Myung-gi was ecstatic to have witnessed such a thing from Nam-gyu, who gave up on pushing Myung-gi away to hide his face in his hands instead. He continued to kick though, twisting his body this way and that to either kick Myung-gi or dodge his hands. But Myung-gi was at the perfect angle and watched, proud of himself, as Nam-gyu pretty much melted into a flustered puddle.
“IHI’M GOHONNA KIHIHIHILL YOHOUHU!”
“We’re not allowed to attack each other here, remember?” 333 replied. He moved to Nam-gyu’s sides, scribbling up and down. 124’s laughter died down a teensy bit- he was still cackling like a supervillain, but it wasn’t as loud as it was a moment ago. Myung-gi realized he must have found Nam-gyu’s worst spot pretty much right away, then. Damn, he was on a roll today!
“You’re speaking complete gibberish, man.” Myung-gi seized the tickling for a moment. “You want me to stop?”
Nam-gyu wordlessly nodded, still giggling.
“Are you calm now?”
“yohou sound like a fuhuckin’ parent, dude.” Nam-gyu breathlessly replied. “You don’t get to tahalk to me like that-“ he launched himself forward to try, yet again, to grab Myung-gi’s sides. He was determined, damn it!
“woah- HEY!” The two toppled over, Nam-gyu on top of Myung-gi, but before Nam-gyu could even do anything, Myung-gi rolled both of them over and just like that, switched places. He quickly pinned Nam-gyu’s wrists with one hand. “What the hell is your problem?” 333 snapped. “Is it the damn pills? Fuck those drugs- you know what you need? A- a fucking chill pill!”
That was… a very goofy statement. Chill pill? Really? Myung-gi wished he thought of something better.
Nam-gyu snickered. “CornbaAAAALL-!”
Myung-gi shoved his free hand under Nam-gyu’s shirt and scribbled over his belly again.
“EEEAAAHAHAHAHHEHEHEHE!” And the crazed thrashing and kicking began again. “NAHAT THERE NOT THEHEHERE NOHOHAHAHAHA!”
“You like that? Huh? You like that, asshole?”
Okay now. Honestly. As Nam-gyu was cackling his head off, Myung-gi started to think… what the fuck was he doing? Tickling another guy? Admittedly, it was kinda fun, especially because he was getting revenge on Nam-gyu, but… people totally saw what was currently happening. And that was… embarrassing!! Especially because Myung-gi was taking this whole thing so seriously.
He slowly started to stop. Nam-gyu panted and swatted Myung-gi’s arm away as soon as he was free.
“Fihine, fine, I’l be quihihiet- god dahamn-“
Myung-gi stood up first, sheepishly looking around to see if anybody was watching. He didn’t see anyone. He looked back down at Nam-gyu.
“Ahem- this stays between us, alright?” He reached his hand out- to shake Nam-gyu’s hand? To help him up? He didn’t even know.
Nam-gyu, obviously embarrassed as well at the situation (but more justifiably so), shook Myung-gi’s hand but stood up by himself. “You look weirdly embarrassed- ahaww, what, do you wanna be tickled now? One of those uh- what’s it called- one of those moods-“
Myung-gi pushed Nam-gyu again, harder than the other times, not caring anymore if it gets him in trouble. Was this fucker ever gonna stop?

Seonghwa had just reached the couch when his knees buckled and he groaned as he sank into the cushions. His head was thrown back dramatically, his eyes closed, and his arms flopped out to his sides. He had been running on fumes and taking care of everyone but himself for a week, as shown by the rumpled long sleeves, slightly frizzy hair, and faint dark circles under his eyes.
He had ensured that San had consumed some vegetables. He had remained up until two in the morning, helping Yeosang recover from an existential crisis related to choreography. After a glitter explosion that might have rivaled a solar flare, he had assisted Wooyoung in cleaning up his room. Additionally, he had done Mingi's laundry this morning since Mingi had—again—forgotten.
But today, the second they walked through the door after rehearsal, Seonghwa announced, “Don’t speak to me. Don’t look at me. I am a fossil.” Then he threw himself onto the couch, arms spread, one leg half-hanging off the cushions.
He lay there like a man defeated by life, phone face down on the floor, a blanket lazily tossed over his legs. His shirt had ridden up just enough to reveal a sliver of his soft tummy, rising and falling gently as he breathed. His eyes were shut, lashes resting delicately on his cheeks, his lips barely parted. He looked so peaceful.
Too peaceful, in Hongjoong's humble opinion.
The leader stood at the foot of the couch, arms crossed, studying him with a quiet smirk. His hyung seemed like the physical embodiment of "I’ve done enough."
Maybe he had. But something about the exposed tummy and the little huff of breath Seonghwa let out was just too tempting.
So, Hongjoong grabbed a plastic pen from the coffee table, sat down beside Seonghwa’s legs, and leaned in innocently. “I’m making a sun,” he whispered, gently tracing a wide circle around Seonghwa’s belly button.
Seonghwa twitched. His brows furrowed slightly, and he let out a breathy “Hmm?”
“And here’s a cat,” Hongjoong continued, drawing two triangle ears on either side of the "sun" with one fingertip. A barely-there hiccup of a laugh escaped Seonghwa’s lips. Hongjoong’s grin grew mischievous. He began lightly scribbling with his fingertips—gentle and slow—tracing imaginary clouds, stars, and hearts across Seonghwa’s sensitive tummy.
He could feel the muscles tensing beneath his fingers. Seonghwa turned his head away, trying hard not to laugh, but the little trembles in his chest gave him away. Seonghwa’s abs jerked, and a helpless little "pffft—!" of a giggle escaped before he clamped his lips shut.
Hongjoong gasped mockingly. “Did the kitty just meow? Careful, it could get laugh lines~” He wiggled his fingers now, abandoning the pretend drawing entirely and going straight in with soft, dancing scribbles.
Seonghwa squirmed, biting his lip hard. “Hongjoohoong… dohohon’t—!!”
“Stohop!” Seonghwa writhed, trying not to laugh too loudly. “I’m seriously exhausted!”
“Then don’t fight it,” Hongjoong sang, rolling back onto his belly and gently starting to flutter his fingers around the button again. “Let the art soothe you.”
That was when Seonghwa gave in. A hiccupy giggle escaped him, and his hands flew down to weakly grab Hongjoong’s wrists. “Yohohou’re not helping!”
“Aww, the kitty meowed again,” Hongjoong teased, dragging his fingers up to the soft undersides of Seonghwa’s ribs, which made him burst into helpless laughter.
“YAHAAHAH—Joongie!” Seonghwa snorted, twisting away with a full-body flinch. “Nohoho—NOHOHOHOnooo—!”
His laughter was high-pitched and raw. Seonghwa’s arms flailed, his legs kicked the blanket off, and his body bucked side to side as he shrieked with laughter.
“WHAHAT IS THIHIHIS?!” Seonghwa howled, legs thrashing as he grabbed Hongjoong’s wrists. “THIHIHIS ISN’T A SUHUHUHN—”
“Nope,” Hongjoong agreed cheerfully, “this is payback. For ignoring your own limits.”
He suddenly skittered his nails fast up Seonghwa’s sides, and the older man nearly exploded with a shrill, pitchy scream.
“JOHOHOONG—STOHOHOP—STOP!!”
“Hmmmm…” Hongjoong tapped a finger to his chin while still scribbling mercilessly into Seonghwa’s quivering belly. “Nah.”
“YOHOHOU JERK—!!”
He let out a high-pitched wheeze and tried to curl up, but Hongjoong grabbed his wrists and held them gently above his head.
“You’re gonna hurt me,” Seonghwa squealed, arching up as he laughed. “You traitor!”
That was when the door creaked open.
“…Hyung?” San blinked into the room, followed closely by Wooyoung and Mingi, all holding drinks or snacks. They paused to take in the chaos.
Wooyoung’s face lit up instantly. “Is that—”
“Tickle art,” Hongjoong said proudly. “And I’m accepting guest collaborators.”
All of them stared at the absolute meltdown on the couch—Seonghwa thrashing under Hongjoong’s merciless hands, hair a mess, shirt bunched up to his chest, his squeals bouncing off the walls.
San dropped his drink and sprinted over before Seonghwa could even think to escape.
"NO!!" Seonghwa shrieked as his traitorous members dashed to take their spots around him. Wooyoung happily plopped onto his ankles like it was a seat made for him.
“Where’s the worst spot?” he asked sweetly.
“Nowhere!! There’s no spot! I’m NOT ticklish I WAS FINE!”
“Wrong answer~,” Wooyoung sang, and yanked off both socks with one dramatic pull.
Seonghwa howled.
“NONONO WAIT—WAIT—WOOYOUNG!!”
Wooyoung flicked at Seonghwa’s arch with one finger. “These little feet are gonna get it.”
And they did.
Without mercy, Wooyoung dug in. Ten fingers, rough and fast, scribbling all over the arches and balls of Seonghwa’s feet. The reaction was instant.
“I bet these ribs are killer, huh?” San whispered, then dug in with brutal knuckles.
Seonghwa lost it.
The sound that escaped him was a mix between a hiccup and a banshee scream.
“SAHAHAHAAHAHAN, NOOHOHOHO!” His voice turned completely ragged.
“Too late!” San dove in behind Wooyoung and grabbed both of Seonghwa’s hips, thumbs pressing into the exact muscle spots Hongjoong had pointed out to him last month.
Seonghwa let out a horrendous shriek and thrashed so hard he nearly flung the blanket off the couch.
San didn’t let up. “What’s wrong, hyung? Ticklish?~”
“YOU GUHUHUHUYS ARE INSANE!!” Seonghwa kicked helplessly, pinned down, squirming like a worm under all the hands on him.
“I think this spot is especially bad,” Wooyoung said with glee, drumming his fingers under Seonghwa’s heel.
Seonghwa’s back arched, his eyes squeezed shut as he shrieked like a kettle boiling over. “WOOYOUNG–AAHAAHAA, I CAHAN’T TAKE THIHIHIS!”
“Then don’t,” San teased, poking into his armpits. “Just enjoy the laughter.”
Yeosang wandered in next. Calm, curious. Normal. “What’s going on here?”
Hongjoong, completely unbothered, answered, “Seonghwa hyung was being selfless again. We’re undoing that.”
Yeosang sighed. “Poor thing,” he said, then walked over and started skittering his fingers under Seonghwa’s neck.
“NAAAHAHAAHAHHH!” Seonghwa squealed, thrashing. “NoHOH–NOT THE NEHEHEHECK!”
His laughter was loud, wild, and broken, the kind that wouldn’t stop even when he tried to speak. He was crying now, tears of laughter spilling down his cheeks, his face flushed deep pink, every part of him betraying him as it flailed and jumped with every well-aimed tickle.
“Someone help, he’s gonna explode,” Yunho said between laughs.
Then came Jongho. Stoic, calm. A banana in one hand. Mingi's jaw dropped next to him.
“What’s the situation?” He asked, grinning.
“Utter meltdown,” Yeosang said. He looked down fondly at the screaming elder beneath him. "...Yeah, he's doing just fine."
Every inch of Seonghwa's body was jerking. His laughter came in wild, squeaky wails, limbs thrashing uselessly. His hands tried to grab someone—anyone—but he was too far gone. His body had gone limp, twitching helplessly under a dozen relentless fingers.
The members gradually pulled away, leaving Seonghwa sprawled like a limp octopus across the cushions. His chest heaved, and his mouth was open in a dazed grin.
Hongjoong sat back on his heels and gently fixed Seonghwa’s shirt.
“Feeling better?”
Seonghwa couldn’t speak. He just panted and blinked slowly. When he finally let out a hoarse, “You’re evil,” his voice cracked.
“Loved though,” Hongjoong teased, brushing the sweat from his forehead.
Seonghwa reached weakly for him, and Hongjoong leaned down, hugging him tight.
“Rest now, sunshine,” he whispered. “You’ve earned it.”
Seonghwa, still twitching slightly from leftover giggles, finally closed his eyes. He felt surrounded by warmth, affection, chaos, and a couch full of fucking gremlins.
* Tries to act stern when the dongsaengs reach for his ticklish spots; “are you sure you want to do that, Kwanjui?”
* But they’ve all known him long enough not to fall for it. He was their friend long before he was their leader, after all.
* Most ticklish under his arms, on his ribs and sides, and on his feet.
* Goes very shy and soft as soon as the tickling takes full effect.
* His laughter is contagious.
* When he gets too overworked and stressed the members use it as a way to forcibly pump some endorphins into him.
Rui
* Pretends to be cold and tough but cracks easily
* Most ticklish on his tummy, sides and ribs
* When he’s being too serious and composed the others use it as a way to crack through his resting bitch face and make him laugh
* At first he screeches and screams like he’s being murdered. Then when the tickling takes hold of him properly he squeezes his eyes shut and squeezes his arms to his sides, melting into a proper belly laugh.
* Acts super pouty and mad when the tickling is over with, but the truth is that he loves the physical attention.
Hyun
* Big gentle teddy bear
* Very ticklish all over but extremely ticklish on his belly and hips.
* Whines and pleads
* Tries to tickle back but loses all coordination and strength once he gets ticklish.
* We all know Rui loves to tease Hyun, and his love only grew when they all got a little tipsy one night and Muti decided to pin Hyun to the dorm floor and give Rui and Haru a step by step tutorial on all of Hyun’s tickle spots while he cackled and begged and turned bright red from all the attention.
Haru
* Poor ticklish little nugget
* Erupts into giggles the second any of his hyungs even mention tickling or curl their fingers in his direction
* Ticklish all over but especially his ears and his tummy.
* You better make sure he’s cornered or pinned because once he feels a tickle he’ll do his best to escape
* The older members love to sneak up in pairs, sandwich the baby between them and go to town on his poor ears; blowing and whispering and giving big sloppy kisses to make Haru shake and scream with laughter.
I love being tickled. And I love that other people love tickling and being tickled. I can’t comprehend that others hate it. It’s so fun and silly and it feels so good. Like I want to be tickled forever and ever.
