Every "documentary" that ive seen about la movida madrileña in english is like soooo wrong.
Just because the topic you are discussing may not be well known among your audience that should not mean you are just doing a light reading and then making up the rest
Now that ive read both goodpop bad pop and im with pulp, are you?
The first one is more about the idea of pulp, and the second of pulp as a product
The idea of pulp has to do with jarvis as an individual because after all he is the founding member. Like how it came to be, what inspired it, what where the circumstances that birthed it, what they wanted it to become at the begining, how that changed, the childlike fantasy of it all.
The product of pulp is introduced throught the eyes of the consumer, mark. How did the band atract somebody, what about it was interesting, did their ideas reach the viewer?. Despite mark becoming part of the band relatively soon in his writing he stills feels like the consumer of his own art
And also good pop bad pop is funny becase jarvis writes how he talks, and im with pulp, are you? is funny because of some of the stuff talked about. Mark seems to have a bit of a relatable sense of shame that is not as based on insecurities such as jarvis, but of embarassment moments and the way he talks about them is funny.
highly recommend listening to exclusively vinyls & cds when ur at home. yes you become the most pretentious annoying person ever but at least you get to own loads of awesome music
To anyone who is starting or thinking of it, dont start buying anithing.
Look first for stuff that maybe siblings, parents, cousins, grandparents, whoever; already have. Any type of player that works and any music you can find around to play on it.
You dont like the records they have? Dont worry, just try to make a habit of listening with what you already have (you may even start liking some tunes you didnt know about). Also i dont know if this is true for everywhere but at least where i live libraries have cds to borrow.
Once you have made it a habit, then its safe for you to start spending money on your new hobbie. Because if you start spending it first, chances are you are not going to listen to them.
How will you find new music? Here is something not that many people mention: listen to the radio. Find some that fits your music preferences and tune in every once in a while. Or just listen to the radio in general, it also "trains" you to not have the inpulse to skip that is so engrained in the streaming mind.
And also talking to other people will help you find new music. And you can share your phisical music with them as well.

Shout out to the man whom i bought this from, because most of these are from the year of release. He was in the 90s in spain buying both stuff that was sold here and some of them that werent, so either someone bought them for him in the uk or he bought them though the mail.
Pulp singles! I dont see that every day. I already had another different class cd but this one is from 95 so maybe i will gift the more recent press to a friend. Now the only pulp lp that i dont have is more pulp. Its very unusual to find pulp on secondhand stores here in spain so pretty happy with it.

Now the masterplan i also have never seen in a shop, despite searching for it so yay! Heathen chemistry case is in pristine condition so you can tell it was not played much lol, same.
A manics and a roses best of, always good to have.
Dog man star cd is ok but the case looks rough, they must have loved it, and i dont think ive heard head music so ill get to it.

And placebo, i used to LOVE, but for some reason i have not listened to lately. I need to get back into them.
Le Mans, la buena vida and la habitación roja are all spanish indie bands, from the 90s, 2000s and 90s till today, in that order. Check them out!
Quite a bit from los planetas (another spanish band from the 90s till today). Callection almost complete as well! And thankfully i got the super 8, because i swear that all the indie boys would hunt for it in the second hand shops...
And there is unidad de desplazamiento opened up for you to see, because its a cool desing without it being difficult to produce.
