the things that i lost here, the people i knew
they got me surrounded for a mile or two
a left at the graveyard, i'm driving past ghosts
their arms are extended, my eyes start to close
the car's in reverse, i'm grippin' the wheel
i'm back between villages, and everything's still

I have an actual job interview this week, which is super helpful after the fake offer I got last week. I really hope I get this job cause I want to get back to writing with you all!!
I made a blog for Grace MacCaullay, and on my time not prepping for the interview, I will edit it and such. I did a few replies this weekend just need to edit those. Thanks for sticking with me during all this; it's honestly been a nightmare.
For sure underestimated the way my body would react to 12 hours of driving. Meg was amazing the role was made for her! Gonna rest up then get back to writing.
Seeing Meg Stalter in Oh Mary tomorrow so my wife and I are gonna drive 6 hours to and from NYC the same day. I won’t be on tomorrow but I will be on Sunday to post any drafted replies I do in the car!
Milo wasn't exactly the most hospitable person. They were nice enough by small town standards, but they weren't exactly the one to jump at being the welcoming committee. This was different though. They'd take any excuse to get a pretty girl on the back of their bike. A slow, Cheshire cat like grin spreads across their lips when Wynnona says she's never been on a ride before. "So I'm your first? Don't worry I'll be gentle," they tease with a cheeky wink.
They swipe an extra helmet before handing it over, "Yeah, I'll get on the bike first and when our ride over I'll get off last to make sure I keep the bike stable for you," they smirk. They forego putting on their leather jacket, the summer air was nice and warm and there was nothing like feeling that rush against you skin. "Do you want a jacket or anything? Mine's the black leather hanging up over there if you wanna borrow it," they nod before pushing their hair out of their eyes to place the helmet on. In an instant Milo is seated and kickstarting the bike to life with a satisfying roar, and they reach a hand out to Wynnona to help her get situated behind them on the bike as much as possible.
That grin, the wink, all of it sent a delightful shiver down Wynonna's spine as she walked closer to the motorcycle. It wasn't often that she was left speechless, and yet here she was, unable to do anything but nod as a shade of pink took over her cheeks.
She clutches the helmet, her knuckles white from the grip; it makes her nervous to place so much trust in someone else, always so used to going at things herself for the sake of staying safe. But Wynonna wanted to be more than the shell of a person she had become; there was a time when she was risky, and she craved to feel that again. "No jacket needed, if I 'm gonna do this then I wanna get the full experience." Smiling, she took Milo's hand; their touch felt electric as the bike started, filling the garage with a loud rumble.
Settling on the back of the bike, she placed her arms around Milo's waist, resting her cheek on their shoulder, taking in the smell of oil and leather. "Take me anywhere." She whispered.

She stared out the front window of the coffee shop, watching passersby and wondering where they might’ve been going. Was it to the library for a new read? To the local boutique for that special something to wear on their birthday? Or maybe they were on their way home from class. Whatever it may be, Rea had become consumed by the thoughts that floated freely within her head. “Sorry,” the brunette paused, shaking her brain back into the present. “What was that?”
Jealousy was a feeling that Billie knew well, swore she could feel it in her bones every time she was with someone who seemed to have the life she'd always wished for. It would come and go in waves, and it wasn't always bitter; sometimes it was just a deep wanting of what she could never have.
Rea was someone who seemed to have it all: money and fame, but not letting it get to her head, so that she was still kind; of course, that made Billie jealous; how could it not? The two had been talking about a new restaurant being built, or at least she thought they were until Rea became distracted by the people on the street. Shaking her head, she leaned back into her seat, waiting for the other's attention to return.
"It wasn't that important, just going on about how a fancy restaurant may take away business from my not-so-fancy one," Billie smirked before taking a sip from her cup. "Tell me more about your life; I know it's way more interesting than mine."

TW: addiction, foster care
Billie's parents were never prepared to raise a child. The two of them were addicts unable to break out of the cycle, so they left her at a fire station one day; she often thinks it's the only responsible thing they'd ever done for her. Placed in the foster system, she made her way from family to family; most took her in for the money that they'd be provided with while raising her.
On her eighteenth birthday, she was allowed to leave the foster system and take care of herself. She found a local shelter and started to collect as much money as she could. Over the next several years, she worked as a waitress, bartender, assistant, and bookkeeper for a library. Once she got enough money, she left Iowa and made her way to Chicago.
It was there that she came into her own, far enough from her once lonely existence.
Chicago has been her home for over a decade; she has her found family and a decent job as a line cook. She lives by herself with two cats, Robbie and Arlo, in a one-bedroom apartment. Billie still thinks it's better to be alone, not allowing her friends to enter too far into her life. But as the years pass, those terrible feelings she has trapped inside are desperate to get out.

Matilda is the youngest of three and the only daughter, living in New Zealand with her older brother and parents until the age of five, when her father passed away. After that, her mother had to accept a job in America. At the age of six, she and her big brothers immigrated to Florida with their mother before later moving several more times due to her mother being unable to keep a job. Losing her husband caused her to become a person she had never been before, and Matilda got the brunt end of it as her older brothers moved on into adulthood. Due to a chaotic home life, she got into trouble and was often found sneaking into the house at late hours. On the night of her high school graduation, she ran away, leaving only a note saying to not worry about her.
After a cross-country road trip, she ended up in Las Vegas and decided to plant some roots. She got a job as a cocktail waitress in a local casino and befriended two women her age. The trio became close quickly, renting a two-bedroom apartment and paying for everything with tip money. For two years, the group lived a vivacious life, one they would leave behind after convincing Matilda to join their group in the wilderness. After so many years of not belonging, she decided to go with them and would not escape until she was twenty-six.
In this group, she met the love of her life, and he showed her that unconditional love was possible. After meeting him, she managed to turn a blind eye to the suspicious things that leaders did at the commune. After a few years, she gave birth to their daughter, Olive. She had always dreamed of being a mother, and when it happened, her whole world changed. Shortly after Olive's birth, Matilda overheard a conversation between the leaders of the cult. They discussed their true intentions and discovered her at the door, threatening her true family; they convinced her to run away without a word.
After a few days in the wilderness, she stumbled upon a small town; there she befriended the local gym owner, Glenn. He took her in on a night when she couldn't handle her grief sober anymore and showed her where to put that energy: boxing. For five years, she lived alone above the gym and became the owner after Glenn's passing.

TW: Kidnapping, runaway situations, family abuse
There isn't much that Wynonna remembers about her childhood, thanks to her older step-brother, who took her from her family when she was five. He saw bruises and assumed something happened despite her insisting it was just a fall from a set of swings. The two of them got on a bus and never looked back. Her family searched for her, but never reunited.
She's never had a home, always traveling from state to state as her brother found odd jobs for them to make money and stay afloat. However, when she turned eighteen, she decided it was time to go. He had been keeping her practically hostage, and she felt suffocated. Just like when she was younger, she bought a bus ticket to the state of Washington and didn't leave a note.
Wynonna never felt more alive than she did in Washington; the endless forest calmed her anxious thoughts, so she decided to stay. She got a job at a local diner and made enough for a small apartment. But with her streak of luck, she knows being content never lasts for long. She doesn't know it yet, but her brother is looking for her, filled with an anger that will need all her strength to fight.

TW: Family estrangement
The Foster family is well known in South Yorkshire, England. Her mother started a career in law shortly after moving, which grew into an empire with the help of Lavinia's father. Every Foster child was expected to study law to keep the family legacy alive, but that wasn't the type of life Vinny wanted to be a part of. After acing her key exams, Vinny dropped the bomb on her family that she would not pursue the career they all wanted and instead would be taking a job at a local museum as a curator. Her parents kicked her out of the house and cut off all funds.
Vinny now lives in her office, while leading a frugal lifestyle so that she can save up for an actual place.
Lavinia would rather be alone than with others; being the black sheep of her family, it's what she is used to. Still, she craves a connection with someone who won't judge her for the choices she's made.
Dystopian/Apocalypse verse. 35-year-old ER nurse.
Tw: death and Parkinsons mentions
The moment Darcy was born, family tragedy struck: her father was diagnosed with Parkinson's, and while her mother worked a full-time job to pay the bills, Darcy was tasked with taking care of her dad. To make sure he got the care he needed, she took night classes to keep up her GPA.
In her early twenties, her father ended up passing away, and the loss hit her hard; he'd always been there, and now he was just gone. With her good grades, she earned a scholarship to a medical school where she hoped to become a doctor.
The workload was too much for her, so she ended up completing a degree in nursing. It was there that she met her future wife, Madison, and the two of them started their life together fairly quickly. While Madison finished school to become a doctor, Darcy got a job as an ER nurse at a local hospital. They got married and had a child; it seemed like a fairytale; she finally made her own family, one that felt safe and secure.
The night the virus broke out, Darcy had been working a late shift, and despite seeing it all, there was nothing she could do to stop it. By the time she reached home, it was too late; her family was taken by the same thing that had overrun the hospital. Struck with an unimaginable grief, she made the trek back to her hometown, where she found a community of survivors.
Now she spends her days treating people's colds and burns and making sure everyone stays safe from whatever lurks in the darkness.
