There’s a heat warning in Los Angeles today. And now it’s about to get even hotter with the newest episode of LA Stories Podcast. Anton is an actor, writer, comedian, and teacher who has been a part of the Los Angeles landscape for the last twenty years. An original cast member of MADtv, Anton shares with us his journey from Nebraska to New York to Los Angeles via the comedy touring stage, and gracing television with his rich performances for the last two decades. Anton has picked fights with David Spade and Chris Farley, he’s received warm and fuzzy hugs from Quincy Jones, and continues to perform regularly throughout Los Angeles at a multitude of comedy venues, as well as part of the band The Tulsa Skull Swingers. On today’s show, Anton reveals his secret obsession, teaches us how to make dying funny, and tells us about his journey from MADtv to his latest role on television’s favorite, Mad Men.

Evren is an accomplished musician, frontman for the band Evil Maria, and a Grammy award winning mastering engineer who has spent the last three decades thriving and surviving in the Los Angeles music scene. With wisdom and humility, Evren tells us about his unexpected journey into employment at one of Los Angeles’s greatest landmarks, Capitol Records, and what the Viper Room was like before it was the Viper Room. Goknar has worked with the likes of Kiss, Carole King, Mariah Carey, and my all time favorite band, The Smashing Pumpkins. If you love music, then this is the episode to listen to, as Evren’s twenty five year history in the City of Angels is rich with stories and encounters with some of the world’s greatest legends, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney included. In this episode of LA Stories Podcast, we are joined by actor, writer, director, comedian, and impersonator Drew Droege. Drew tells us a thing or two about growing up and his multitude of confrontations with bees, as well as his transition from being a "serious theatre actor" to the brilliant Groundlings trained comedic actor he is today. He discusses his litany of odd jobs, the wretchedness of waiting tables in Los Angeles, and surviving off of other people's heroin addictions. Finally, Drew discusses the origins of his most famous impression of actress Chloe Sevigny and spending time on Hollywood Blvd. as Tinsel Town's own mascot, Angelyne. Drew is wonderfully inspiring, always funny, and gives us some intriguing insight into his incredible work ethic and, lucky for us, his necessity to constantly perform.
