Sometimes you just need to set out to do the impossible and you just might find you will surprise yourself! I know I did! Spring fever has hit me full force. I have been working away at the yard and completing many of those someday projects. Im #determined to get it done this year. Ive been wanting to move this giant tractor wheel that was a sand box to previous owners that became a weed bed in the last few years. Up right this thing is as tall as I am 5'5. It wasnt easy. It felt way too heavy and too hard. What kept me trying was knowing how amazing it would feel when I did what I really doubted I could do. I came out with some scuffs and a chest full of pride maybe all my work outs are doing some good! #feelingaccomplished

Sometimes we get stuck on labels, ideas of what something is supposed to look like, the character we need to be before we believe we are what we want to be. Ive struggled with identifying myself as an artist or a creator. I had to step back and look at what my standard was. Did I honestly believe to be an artist ment being highly accurate and realistic? Absolute perfection? Awe inspiring, tear pulling beauty? Unfortunately yes. Sadly I did. Id pass art stores and supplies with a longing, a wishing I could be like that without actually taking any steps towards it. Feeling intimidated by the countless hours artists have spent in contemplation, observation and practice. All I saw was the final product. I didnt appreciate the process, the work, the learning and experimentation that it took to reach that level of artistic expression. Whatever your heart is calling you to do...just start. Do a little here. Try a bit there. Trust in the process. Allow yourself to just play. A whole new world lays beyond labels and preconceptions... but you know that... we all do... it takes courage to actually act on it. #artisplay #artisfreedom #artisyou #expression #try

Sometimes you just gotta play will presentation. Sliced some nice thin beets, roasted them up and turned them into flowers with sweet potato centres. A bed of spinach and some juicy chicken. A few weeks ago my hubby was told he is prediabetic. Diet over haul! It has been a fun challenge to try new recipes, experiment with variations and flavours and presentation to make the transition fun. Ive learned a few things 👉 Its really not that hard once you decide 👉 Healthy eating is delicious, full of colour and life 👉 Your tastebuds will adjust and the things that you THINK you crave dont taste as great as you remember once you've been on the clean eating more then not. It was a good right hook to get that diagnosis but far from a KO. Really its been more if a blessing thdn a hindrance. I often wonder why did we wait to get to that point to implement change? Why do we do that so often in our lives. Ode to the Rooster I few weeks ago I felt this urge to make a rooster #painting. me: what? Rooster? Really? Inner me: yes rooster me: why? I dont know how to draw roosters? ...Ok fine... Inner me: smiles On my art journey Ive learned to follow these impulses even if it doesn't make sense, feels hard or I dont want to. There is usually something to it. Something that needs to be explored. So off I go and this ☝️ materialized. I really didnt know what I was doing and its different then anything I've ever done. Completion wasnt enough tho. I still didnt understand the rooster. Its scary to explore sometimes, to come face to face with what you can and cant do...yet. Its hard to look at your best efforts and think that it? Thats the best I can do!? Its easy to let it discourage you and be a reason to stop trying. But it is too early to make such black and white judgements. What if you didnt worry about the end result? So what if it looks like crap? What would that mean? Can you say, at the very least you learned something new to bring to the next attempt? I struggle with my art at times when I feel myself being overly critical or judgemental of my writing or painting. That just blocks my flow of creation. I think what happens is I start imagining what someone might say or think. I remind myself this is my expression and not everyone will #appriciate it and thats ok. Look at that grass! Just look at it! Isnt it gorgeous! The tantalizing creamy sea sluge tones, with a hint of colour choked right out of it. Ahh the first signs of spring. Despite the colour palate the park was ALIVE today. Energy was pulsing. was infectious. A group of boys orchestrating the tournament if lower wrestling championship, kids racing on their bikes squealing trying to get away, higher daddy higher, the infectious hearty laugh fest coming from 2 little boys rolling and falling over eachother down the steep hill. Its been a week of adjustment. New work out routine. I hit some new weight mile stones, discovered and rediscovered muscles I didnt know I had and my body is letting me know today needs to be an off day. Plop! The results of a DIY reno learning curve. I think Im wearing more then the ceiling. I couldnt help but laugh every time I thought I got the technique then another plop or 2 landed on me, thd window, the wall, despite my best efforts to try and catch them. I thought this could go 1 of 2 ways. A)👉 I could get completely frustrated with myself, for not getting how to work this stuff, 👉the mud, why cant you just stay in place, why are you so messy, 👉 my husband for having grand visions of the end results if a fixer upper and cultivating ut in me too, 👉the media for making DIY look so easy. This could have ended in anger, frustration etc... Or B) I just took it as it came abd made a game if it. I got into theatrics trying to get this stuff to stay in place, I think I even bargained with it at some points, I thought of how my husband would laugh and my sinanagins in trial and error. As messy as it was I got it done, had fun and kinda figured out how to mud the ceiling. Dont know how?
