Just thinking about Ilya telling Svetlana "I don't deserve you" and her immediately responding "yes, you do".

And Ilya telling Shane "You don't like me" and Shane immediately responding "Yeah, I do. I like you maybe a little too much".

Poor baby Ilya has exactly two people he truly loves in the world, who love him back, and he doesn't believe he's worthy of either of them.

genuinely i do think it's crazy how this show hit every single mark for no reason other than pure love of the game. like this wasn't a money grab and it didn't think it would be a big success, jacob just read a book he enjoyed and thought huh i think that would be a cool thing to make into a tv show. and then he brought on hudson and connor and they're fresh and passionate and not bogged down by the industry yet and they instantly became best friends and wanted to just have fun bringing these characters to life. and they didn't have a huge budget but they did the most with what they had and everybody took the show seriously and everybody took the book seriously. the cinematographer worked his magic. the music supervisor managed to snag a well-known queer hit and an up and coming new release and old school gems that have been around since the 2000s. it's canadian to the core, built from the ground up. it takes russians and the russian language seriously. it uses sex in such a specific, meaningful way that almost no other show has done thus far, and especially not in a queer context like this. they interlaced every episode with callbacks and parallelism and self-references. they didn't take themselves too seriously. they took everything so seriously. there is love and care baked into the core of this show and it's deeply queer and it doesn't shy away from the horrors of toxic masculinity and hockey culture but it is also, always, a story of joy and love and happiness. and on top of everything, it's almost word for word, the original source material from the book.

like damn it's no wonder this thing has made us all insufferable and become a huge fucking success! so few productions in hollywood are doing it like this!!!

"I'm not pretending for you anymore"

Let's dissect this line,shall we? Conrad has ALWAYS been in love with Belly (pretends to be shocked) but hasn't told her until episode 7 in this season. This line tells us exactly why. Their timings have always been fucked up. Especially the jere fiasco in season one that made Belly feel guilty over choosing Conrad. Conrad didn't want to enhance her guilt by telling her he loved her before Jeremiah approved. So, he tells jere his CHEST PHYSICALLY HURTS TO NOT BE ABLE TO TELL HER HE'S IN LOVE WITH HER. But before he can properly say it, susanah's condition worsens and prom happens then funeral happens. It all get's fucked up and he can't tell her.

The same happens throughout the entire season 2. We can SEE in scenes Conrad's chest literally hurts to not be able to tell her. All he does is in her best interest. Whenever he feels like he fucked it up with her and she doesn't want him anymore. Later after his exam when he tries to tell her again he sees her making out with his brother in his college campus against his car. So he uses his defence mechanism and pushes her away. Then he pretends to not love her because he thinks Jere will treat her better.

HE DOES THE SAME IN ENTIRE SEASON 3. PRETENDING IT DOESN'T HURT HIM TO NOT BE ABLE TO BE WITH HER OR LOVE HER. UNTIL THIS POINT.

From this episode onwards he chooses his emotions, his feelings, his love over what she thinks is the best for her. He doesn't pretend to not love her because he literally can't.

waittt because jeremiah knew about christmas before spring break, intentionally picked a fight so that they’d “break up”, and then he cheats on her while in cabo as some form of revenge, like an eye for an eye, even tho he knows they didn’t do shit together. this is diabolical. that’s a loser. so glad belly is free of that manchild.

The episode confirmed Jeremiah created the break up with Belly before Cabo as a calculated attempt to sleep with Lacie because he was bitter and seeking revenge over Belly and Conrad spending a day together doing some crosswords and I’m supposed to feel bad for him at all?

“Belly lied to him” Yes, it was wrong. But the first logical thought would’ve been him talking to Belly about it. The reason he didn’t do it it’s because he knows deep down that Belly will always be in love with Conrad and he didn’t want to help her come to that realization and have their relationship over. Jeremiah’s love for Belly is selfish and it’s more about his inferiority complex over Conrad than her. They could’ve never been able to have a healthy and honest relationship with each other.

People are mad at Belly for her speech on the beach to Conrad, but y'all can't see why?

She says that Conrad doesn't even know her anymore, but she's so obviously angry that he can see right through her. That he knows she doesn't want to get married to Jeremiah, that he knows she doesn't want to get married at the country club, that he knows that Belly wouldn't and shouldn't be putting up with any of it from Jeremiah.

She's mad that it was Conrad who found Rosie. She's mad that it was Conrad who was there with her to go look for all the wedding stuff. She's mad that it was Conrad who convinced her mom to come to the wedding and to the shower. She's mad that it was Conrad who was there at Christmas. She's mad about it because she has to face the fact that she's romanticized her life with Jeremiah and now it's all been crumbling down.

Yes, she romanticized Conrad when she was a teenager. But now they're adults, and she's not romanticizing him anymore and she's mad about it because it means that her feelings for him are real, that she's truly in love with him and she hates it. Because she doesn't want to be.

If she truly felt like she and Conrad were never anything real, do y'all really think she would've fallen onto the beach and started sobbing?

I just read someone say that Conrad is Laurel and Belly is Susannah and now I'm in shock. because oh my god.

Conrad IS Laurel. stoic. always does what's right. never shows emotions. tries to stay neutral and level headed. will do ANYTHING for the people they love and WILL fight when the people they love are being mistreated.

Belly IS Susannah. makes choices off her feelings. never considers others but also considers others too much. let's herself being swallowed whole by another person just to avoid change. loves spontaneity and adventure and FUN.

Susannah always said Belly was her special girl, and Laurel always said Conrad was her special guy, but now it all makes sense.

They are each others mothers.

And Jeremiah is his dad.

no wonder Laurel hates Jeremiah and Belly sm. all she sees is Susannah marrying their dad and seeing every mistake be made all over again.

no wonder Conrad and Belly are so compatible. they have the personalities of two friend-soulmates, and now are soulmates in their own way. it was truly destined.

The insane part is not Jenny linking Belly’s inner monologue to Taylor Swift songs but it’s the way she used the songs to symbolize her inner monologue. When she found out in 301 that Jeremiah cheated on her and her bubble of delusion cracked, it was a song about how her heart won’t start anymore. And then it was 4/5 episodes of zero inner narration from her. You didn’t even know what she was feeling at all.

Comes episode 305, she spends the entire day with Conrad and her resolution’s cracking. And, oh, 306, not only is her inner monologue back but they play a Taylor Swift song again just when her feelings for Conrad are resurfacing. It’s almost like he brought her back to life from her frozen state.

One of the big issues with Bonrad’s relationship the first time around was Conrad’s inability to show weakness around Belly and allow her to help him (his hero complex). It’s the reason why she freaks out at the funeral. Belly see Conrad accepting help from another girl and it feels like betrayal bc she wanted to help him so much and he never let her.

“I would have been there for you through everything.”

He even admitted to this last episode and we see him trying to change that. He tells her he got fired. He allowed her to see a more vulnerable unsure side of himself and she didn’t balk. She was able to make him laugh and reassure that he doesn’t need to be perfect.

The reason the tub scene is such a HUGE deal is Conrad actually lets Belly help him. Like yes maybe Conrad could have done that by himself but she wanted to help. She wanted to be there for him and unlike the past he actually lets her.

What do you mean the whole thing comes to light just cause Belly was there when the conformation email arrived?

What do you mean Belly thought he was going to be with his dad and that THEY ARE GOING TO MEET UP?

What do you mean he broke up with her over nothing as she wasn’t even mad just confused and the whole thing felt so heat of the moment?

What do you mean he didn’t reach out to Belly before Cabo and try and smoothed out the whole thing and have a proper conversation where they aren’t fighting? But sit down like adults before he left for Cabo?

What do you mean he has horizontal discussion with another girl like a week after this not once but TWICE?

What do you mean he came back, brought a cheap bracelet as a sorry gift and started ‘I was so mean. So bad. Woo is me!’ The moment Belly stepped in?

What do you mean that when Belly told Jeremiah they weren’t broken up actually he didn’t say, ‘No, we were actually’? CAUSE EVERYBODY SEEMS TO JUST NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT BELLY SAID AFTER CABO WHEN THEY FIRST MEET THAT THEY WEREN’T ACTUALLY BROKEN UP AND HE NEVER CORRECTED HER!

one thing about me is that ill never be against elena in the love triangle topic. i love stefan and i hate see him sad with a broken heart, but ohh youre sad because a teenage girl cant choose between you or your brother who are vampires over 100 years old while her life is being torn apart little by little everyday and all the supernatural world keeps hunting her??? yeah keep crying

so yeah i hate that this love triangle is even a thing and i wish it could have ended sooner for the sake of everyone involved and us because it was annoying asf, but i can never get mad at my girl for just being a confused teenager in the middle of all that chaos
