this is an illustration of @lightisperfection's post about a v1 plushie (you write him so good, mwah), but it has spiralled into its own au in my head haha... come close and I'll tell you more:

reincarnation au where humanity discovers magic and pulls itself back from the brink, but forgets its past over the centuries and reverts back to the medieval age. gabriel is reborn as an ordinary human and becomes a holy paladin.

the thing is, he's lost all his memories and is destined to spend his whole life fighting alone due to his sins... until he meets v1, who has entered the human mythos in some cultures as a savior figure due to slaying every single last earthmover before entering hell. it's spent this whole time sleeping and waiting until it is activated with blood again... or, perhaps, waiting for someone...?
