From August 1st to October 21st, I had the opportunity to be a part of this family. The story of this team is one that no one familiar with it will ever forget. I had the pleasure of watching 24 boys turn into 24 young men over the course of 10 weeks. 24 kids from a tiny school in a tiny town taught me so much about myself, taught me so much about this life, taught me what family truly means, and made me remember why I love this game (whether as a player or a coach). And I will never forget the way they fought through every shade of adversity that a team can have thrown at them. I can only hope that they learned as much from me as I did from them. #gorebels🏈

It is impossible to draw near to God without sorrows, without which human righteousness cannot remain unchanged… If you desire virtue, than give yourself to every affliction, for afflictions produce humility. If someone abides in virtue without afflictions, the door of pride is opened to him
St. Isaac The Syrian (via alexanderguns)

A wall of denial Is fallin' down Wo it's fallin' so hard Down to the ground Never knew something so strong Could be washed away by tears But this wall of denial Was just built on fear

I've heard how some people, have said that I've changed That I'm not what I was How it really is a shame The thoughts in their heads, Manifest on their brow Like bad scars from ill feelings they themselves arouse So hateful of anyone that is happy or 'free' They live all their lives, without looking to see The light that has lighted the world
It's funny how people, just won't accept change As if nature itself - they'd prefer re-arranged So hard to move on When you're down in a hole Where there's so little chance, to experience soul
I'm greatful to anyone, that is happy or 'free' for giving me hope while I'm looking to see

The acquisition of material goods is no more virtue than the lack of them, but only what is accompanied by justice and honesty can be virtue, and whatever is devoid of justice is vice.
