The Jurassic Park franchise has recently released an impressive transmedia storytelling campaign.
Along with the next movie’s theatrical release, set for June 12th, Jurassic World, a themepark opening in the UK will open on June 11th. To captivate audiences, generate word of mouth, and drive sales for the movie and themepark, the’ve created an interactive website that includes the following ties to the physical themepark:
Live camera feeds for the curious to have a look around the park
Real-time weather, wait times, tour times and ship departures
Helpful tips (one of which tied into a warning about bad weather, providing visitors with a location to find umbrellas)
They’ve even extended their story to the fictional investors of Jurassic World, by creating a companion website that mirrors corporate sites, which you can visit here.
