Me and Mrs Smith (part one)
Finding narratives
The 3 short pieces constructed so far were collages of already-broadcast material, snipped from their original contexts and laced together as an experiment.
I am using the deadline of our now monthly meetings from the Radio Anywhere course to construct further experiments. 'Me and Mrs. Smith' is the first of these monthly constructions. I'm finishing it off as the deadline looms.
This time the original context is a series of email exchanges which track a grandmother, mother and daughter as they share a pilgrimage which brings them all together. I found these narratives in my inbox, and am lacing them together as an experiment.
Life writing - it has no punchline.
Me and Mrs Smith, 13th April on this blog
The Roving Curator pays homage to William Shakespeare. The full 30 minute audio will be broadcast on Sound Art Radio on Shakespeare’s birthday - 23rd April - time to be announced and at www.riviera.fm on 25th April at 6pm. The photo collage was made from photographs taken by the Roving Curator’s recent trip to Stratford-upon-Avon.
Third and last piece in Found Sound series. The question is - what comes next?
Second of three pieces which explore found narrative
I wanted to explore sound and narrative to generate open ended pieces which allowed the listener to dream up their own storyline, to visualise the characters and to complete the tale themselves, in their own head.
