FINAL PAGES
Page 27 & 28
As a last page, I feel this successfully concludes my book. In regards to the composition of the image, it is exactly the same as the first, but shows the garden in spring/summer. The bright coloured flowers create a more interesting garden, and the foxes and the frog add areas of interest to look at, as well as the squirrel dropping an acorn to the one below. I have also left the owl within the tree, but this time he is awake.
FINAL PAGES
Page 25 & 26
This page is my favourite of my book. I’m really pleased with the way it turned out, having initially struggled to find a way to make it look like it was snowing convincingly. Using the screen option on Photoshop to apply the snow flakes, the outside took on a colder feel, making the inside of the den feel warm. I also like the composition of the image, and feel the colours work well.
FINAL PAGES
Page 23 & 24
For this page, I used the same colours as the previous image to keep the consistency of the den. I also like how it moves from a close up of the squirrels to this full page spread. Furthermore, you can see how the squirrels are different in terms of colour and size, discovering that a smaller squirrel has been the one responsible for stealing the bigger squirrels acorns,
FINAL PAGES
Page 21 & 22
This is my final image for page 21/22 of my book. This page along with a couple of others came out very dark when printed compared to the on screen image, but overall i’m happy with the image. I feel the composition of the image, the colours and the character of the squirrels are successful; the anger of the right squirrel and the embarrassment of the left squirrel at being caught is evident on the page.
FINAL PAGES
Page 19 & 20
This is another page i’m really happy with. I like how again the bark continues to take up half the page, and how the culprit is revealed to be another squirrel.
FINAL PAGES
Page 17 & 18
With this page, I am happy with how it looks. I enjoy the simplicity of it, and how half the page is taken up by the bark of the tree, again giving a breather from the more busier double page spreads.
FINAL PAGES
Page 15 & 16
This page is one of my favourites. Being a mainly green image, its breaks up the huge amount of brown that I already have within my book. I also like the change of perspective, zooming in on this tiny frog, and seeing the detail on his skin.
FINAL PAGES
Page 13 & 14
Overall, this is the one image I would change within my book. I really like the composition of the image, and how I have changed the scale of the squirrel from the smaller animal to the bigger one on the page, but feel that more detail is needed.
FINAL PAGES
Page 11 & 12
With this page, I initially struggled to make the owl look like he was in a hole in the tree. After some experimentation, I feel i finally managed to achieve this. If anything, I feel I could have redrawn the squirrel, but like how the owl looks and his expression. I also had problems with this page being very dark when printed for my book by blurb, but not so much on the studio Epson printer.
FINAL PAGES
Page 9 & 10
Overall, I’m really happy with the way this page looks. I also utilised the same colours from Page 4/5 for underneath the grass and within the den, to keep the unison between the pages.
FINAL PAGES
Page 7 & 8
Im really happy with way this image turned out. I’m pleased with the expression of squirrel, and how his eyes follow over to the bubble on the right page. I also think the white space helps the image breath, as well as the book itself, with the majority of pages being double spread images that are fully coloured.
FINAL PAGES
Page 5 & 6
This is the final image for pages 5/6 of my book, where squirrel discovers his acorns have been stolen. I feel the composition of the image is successful, and like how the text is place within the hole where the squirrel is looking.
FINAL PAGES
Page 3 & 4
I’m really pleased with the way this page has finished. I like how the leaves and the bottom of the grass takes up the length of the page, adding a sense of connection to the separate images. I’m also a lot more pleased with the right hand squirrel compared to the initial squirrel I drew.
FINAL PAGES
Page 1 & 2
This is my first final page of my book. I enjoy the composition of the image, but wonder if I could have incorporated more variety of colours somehow, as I have used a lot of browns and greens. Despite this, I’m pleased with the way it has turned out, but I often found that the colours were lost when the image was printed in both my book by Blurb, and as a final print from the large Epson printer in the studio.
When Squirrel’s acorns are stolen whilst preparing for winter, he is determined to get them back. Venturing through the garden to investigate, everyone’s a suspect. But he's shocked to discover who’s the real culprit!

These are a collection of my final images from my book. Overall, i am happy with the way it has turned out, but wonder is my images utilise brown too much. Furthermore, printing the images has often been troublesome, coming out way too dark compared to what it looks like on the screen.
