Finished Mobile Codes
The More Reads is missing because I wasn't able to code it
Finished coded website
Fixed design - Finished my coding and all though there are a few niggly mistakes I didn’t have time to fix it.
More Coding
having difficulty making sure everything is responsive
Right Column
Starting to look a lot better with the right column. Using percentages and vw to make it responsive.
Changing top news to top articles?
Andreas New Journey
Andrea has started to use the Dominion Post as her usual news outlet, she is signing up to her own My Dominion Post so she can log in and see news catered to her liking in the future. She would like to sign up with Facebook and add rugby, all blacks and ferns to her favourite categories receiving videos first then news on her feed.
Sign Up Precedents:
Currently stuck on how to design my sign up journey for andrea. Pinterest I remembered had a really simple and effective sign up steps.
Sarah’s finished journey Screenshot on my phone- on the phone the text looks rather small. Maybe I should make it bigger
Coded Wrong
realized I coded the text layout wrong because if they were separate sections of text it couldn't become responsive. Need to change code into one long section and float images on the side
Coded Wireframe
The basis has been made and I should further develop this before I jump too far in with putting info in
Getting the hang of Coding
Spent all lesson today planning to do the code instead of doing it. Wrote out a big plan for my wireframes and measurements which in the end really helped me focus and know what was needed to be done when I opened brackets.
I’ve looked up tutorials and questions on google when stuck and I'm happy how it looks so far. I’ve made most of my measurements percentages so they are responsive
Mikes Journey Stylised
I have to change Mike to be logged in. Also his journey seems short so I could expand it and show more of my concept, unsure how to go about it
Sarahs Stylised Journey with the return to the top button
while recording the last journey I realised it was a mission to scroll back up to the menu bar so I added a little return to the top icon at the bottom of the article. I was thinking it could be static but it would be annoying if you were trying to read so I kept it at the bottom below the comments. However, instead of doing the return button I could make the Header and menu static so it'll be available whenever which is a smarter option.
Sarahs Journey with Style
Changed her journey as Haiyan was already showing the local news so changed her to entertainment and weather. Currently Met service runs stuff weather so I kept it at that.
Finished User Journey for Haiyan
With full style and redesign. I'll have to get feedback from peers tomorrow about the new journey and if it works. I am happier with the menu layout which is much more effective than the top change bar which kept getting missed by people.
New Menu Design
went with a slide menu as it was best to navigate. Now im unsure how to lay the content out, i am liking the clean layout without the boxes but it doesnt go with my other content. I think I will use the clean layout
Mobile Menu Precedents
Noticed that most of the menus were side swipe menus, but I researched more on fullscreen square layouts. I think a side sweep menu would be nice but I have to take into consideration how many categories I have and if too many squares are too overwhelming to read. I've also only have 5 colours to work with unlike these colourful menus
