Hello, my name is Lavallon, but people call me Val. I am a thirty something women who calls New Orleans, Louisiana home. I'm profession is a career bartender in a city full of beauty, temptation, sin, and gluttony. Between the drinking, parties, parades, and the overwhelming feeling that it is mandatory to let the good times roll you can loss years living the dream in the Big Easy. Where time seems to stop in its tracks. I woke up one morning with the feeling that I had lost years of my life and the ability to feel empathy the way I once did. In that moment I decided to put all of my things in storage, quit my jobs, and buy a one way ticket across the world. Now I'm facing the great wide open and it's an humbling feeling. My blog is going to be based around the idea of traveling through an empathic lens. To see how it might affect one persons worldview. Maybe it will save my soul. Wish me luck.
That feeling someone gets when they get lost though a city that reminds them why we travel, Lisbon is that city for me. Stumbling on to the nights of St. Anthony, St. John and St. Peter. The streets are full of paper decorations, local liquor medronhos, music, and sardines, was a magical night.
Staying at the The new Crawford hotel is an lovely experience with the old completely restored train station to its Art Deco prime. Worth the price tag of the hotel room, with the warm and well done rooms. This seems to be the only hotel in Denver with the quality of some other dramatic hotels around the world. In the station are some impressive restaurants and hotel bar next to the terminal.…
The Dead Sea Is a bucket list item, at least in my book. The summer is the slow season in Isreal, so if you would like to avoid the crowds it’s a great time to come to see the sights. If you do not mind the very hot weather it’s a dream come true, however; that being said make sure you bring a lot or sun protection. It is the Middle East desert.

Cuba has a great feel to it, everyone is looking for a good time and some dancing. Getting a hotel is hard, but staying in someone’s house has much more of a local feeling. Book early, everything fills up fast. Internet is very hard to find, BUT if you go to the Plaza Hotel and buy a government card you can use it in the lobby. Can’t wait to go back to see the rest of Cuba. There are still no…
I’m staying in great part of Mexico City, the Condesa district. It was a great way to see this party of the city for my long layover. It’s pretty easy to get to the city from the airport, You have to prepay for taxes in the airport. Make sure they don’t charge you more than 250 peso, if they quote you high they are trying to charge you for a SUV
