what people don’t understand about how adhd is disabling is that it’s not just getting temporarily distracted from, like, school work or hobbies. it’s getting distracted/being unable to motivate yourself to go to the doctor, eat regularly, do hygiene tasks, etc. it’s not knowing when or how long it will take you to do something, ANYTHING, and in many cases that thing is taking a shower or keeping your house from turning into a biohazard. it’s about being fundamentally incapable of controlling your attention and focus on anything, even and especially things you need to do to survive.

Every time I make a post speaking negatively about the present GOP or insinuate that the Democratic Party might be the lesser of the two evils we are forced to decide between, immediately someone shows up to say ‘both sides bad though’. Like. Okay. And? And what are you going to do about it? Refuse to participate in democracy just because you’re waiting for the revolution? Let them both do whatever? I got so much shit during the election when I was trying to encourage people to vote for Kamala and look where we are now. Honestly? I will always choose the lesser of two evils and let there be blood on my hands instead of standing back and allowing evil to take its course. I’ve made a choice, not a permanent one, less of an endorsement of the Democratic Party and more of an acknowledgment of the fascist Christian nationalist views of the current GOP. Both sides bad, both sides similar, the left in America is more like the center right in a lot of other countries, I’m aware of this, it is important to attempt to minimize harm until the problem can be solved.

The “cis is a slur” shit is so funny because you know the people who say that are using transphobic slurs in every other sentence and assuming that cis is derogatory because all of the terms they use for trans people are so the terms transgender people use to refer to their identity must be demeaning too. trans men and transmascs do need to hear they aren't hurting anyone for being masculine, but more than that they need to hear that they are loved for being masculine. your masculinity is wonderful and magical and you pull it off incredibly well. your masculinity is cool, it's desirable, it's attractive. there are people out there who will be drawn to you because of your masculinity, not just in spite of it. you deserve more than just to be tolerated in queer spaces. your masculinity deserves to be celebrated

Hoppers could’ve been a good movie about environmental activism but no; just corporate propaganda and good ol Disney slop. Not only that, but the pacing is awful and the story has a lot to be desired. It’s like Disney/Pixar are afraid to let things breathe and let us feel or process what just happened.

Maybe I’ve been working MORE THAN double as hard for MY WHOLE LIFE and it’s led me to immense burnout & caused me to develop several MORE disabilities!! Maybe I should be ACCOMMODATED so I don’t have to KILL MY BODY AND BRAIN over trying to do what abled people can do!! Maybe I DON’T have to work double as hard!! Maybe if there’s the option to let me NOT work double as hard, I should have it, because I’m already working double as hard JUST TO SURVIVE!!
