do they have a big family or a small family? no family?      Lavender always wanted to be from a big family, she always wished her parents had been able to have more children, but outside of Rosa and Senghor (mother and father) she doesn’t have much in terms of extended family. Her father’s brother Odafe writes her from time to time, but until she was of age and performing magic she had never even known of her father’s lineage let alone relatives on his side. Her mother’s side of the family is even more distant, still in Cuba but they refuse to acknowledge Lavender because of the color of her father’s skin. Over the past few years, family has become a more fluid idea in Lavender’s head and now extends out to include the Lupin boys, as well as Harry, Dean and Seamus. The Patils are another familial unit that she’s somehow found a place in, and each of these circles have become what Lavender finds to be the best fractioned family she could have ever hoped for. 

where would they want to live if they could live anywhere? why?      If she could without the worry of being too far away from those that she loves, she’d give anything to be somewhere reclusive. Near a river perhaps with lots of space. She’s found since her change that cities seem to claustrophobic and easily overwhelming. Being away would mean less chance that she hurts anyone, and would give her piece of mind that she could possibly relax. But that idea is just too far away for her to really hold on to any hope of it in the future. 

are they happy in their current living situation? why or why not?      Yes. She loves her apartment. She didn’t ever think she’d be one to be on her own, but it gives her a place to drop her guards and be weak when she needs to be away from everyone who are always trying to monitor her and her condition. She’s still not a fan of the silence that goes with being alone, but she’s trying to adapt to being alone with her own thoughts more and more. 

do they like living alone or with another person / other people?      If it was a perfect world? Always with people. At one point she had always pictured herself, Parvati and Padma moving in somewhere together, but she’s warming up to the idea of being alone. She feels as though isolation is something she needs to become more welcoming to....

did they go to college, or are they attending? did / do they like it?      She has not attended college. She originally thought about going for something under the production design umbrella, but she’s happy at Gringott’s where she is and thinks that arithmancy has given her a routine that she needs at this point in her life. 

what’s their dream job / profession? do they have one?      She’d love to mentor or run a program to help assist and aide newly changed lycanthrops adjust to their adapted normal, but she’s not sure if something like that even exists in their world yet....A few years ago she would have said working as a dresser for a studio or something similar would have been ideal. 

if they could control one thing in the world, what would it be?      Her wolf. Coming to terms with the effects her wolf can have on her emotions, body, and thoughts is still something Lavender greatly struggles with. She hates the idea that there is a side of her that has no connection to her own morality. It terrifies her greatly.

Relationship with Family: - {bio} she grew up very close to both of her parents and their bond stayed strong all through Lavender’s time at school. While her mother hadn’t been keen to the idea of sending her into an unknown world, her father had insisted that magic was a gift despite some magical folk. But her attack took a large toll on the family. Her parents know some pieces of what happened, but in Lavender’s mind they refuse to understand that she is different now. Her father’s mindset on magical creatures versus magical beings has also added onto the divide that has grown between them.  - {found} To Lavender, family is a fluid term and the idea that one is only allowed or granted one family in their lifetime is outrageous to her. Remus took her under his wing after her attack and has constantly worked to provide a stable reminder to her that despite who she is now, she still deserves just as much love and compassion as she did prior to her attack. As she worked through physical therapy to learn to walk again, Harry and Teddy had become two of the brightest lights in her darkest time and still provide so much strength to her even if they don’t know it. The love that her found family and friends provide her with is overwhelming and has been much needed especially the past few months as she battles against the now fully matured wolf inside of her.

Hermione listened intently to Lavender deconstruct her tea order. She’d slowly been learning to appreciate this kind of thing, back at Hogwarts she’d have rolled her eyes and stopped listening about two minutes ago. It was interesting to hear how a tea order reflects someone’s personality. Was it accurate? Or was Lavender just attributing aspects of Hermione’s personality to a cup of tea because she knew Hermione relatively well? Have a little faith Hermione, she said to herself. “That does seem to be a pretty accurate reading I suppose” Hermione smiled. 

“I’ve never fully understood the whole leaves thing” she said, “if you’d asked me in third or fourth year I would have said absolutely silly. If- if trying to figure out horcruxes and spending all that time researching has taught me anything, it’s that magic is far more complex than any of us think. So who knows. I’m trying to be less cynical recently”

Lavender tried to hide her surprise at Hermione’s last comment and instead settled for a soft smile. There was a reason she was the brightest witch of their age, nearly too smart for her own good and humble. If Lavender’s younger self could see her now, she’d likely gag, but presently she found the open mindedness refreshing. It was that sort of mentality that everyone needed to be working off of coming out of the last war. And it was exactly that mentality that had lead Lavender to hunt down Hermione in the first place about her proposal. 

“If we could all make a choice to make one less passive or cynical choice a day, we’d be so much better off. Its strange thinking on how you can fight and fight and fight and people still struggle with even the basic tenants of civility like that...” Lavender said with a sigh. 

Stopping in front of a quaint and quiet shoppe, Lavender opened the door and motioned the other girl in. 

“I swear it’s the best cup in the neighborhood, and its perfect to sit and have a chat over. Do you know much about the Ministry’s charity works?”

Roderick tapped his fingers against the chair he was occupying, the desk of a L. Brown, if the nameplate on it was anything to go off of, in front of him entirely empty. He hated waiting. Absolutely despised it. It didn’t help his already dismal mood from being made to bide his time that he was directed out of Podgkins’ office. His father had worked directly with the older man and now, handling his family affairs, Roderick had expected to receive the same treatment. Every Gringotts meeting he had attended while his father was still alive had taken place with Podgkins. He had no idea who L.Brown was but they certainly weren’t the person a Flint was meant to be meeting with. The Browns were potioneers not money minders. Hearing the door finally open, Roderick held back the urge to roll his eyes and simply placed his foot on his opposite knee, appearing as though the wait hadn’t inconvenienced him in the slightest. “Correct me if I’m mistaken but my meeting time was for two, not half passed.”

Lavender had just gotten back from her lunch having taken a late start due to a surge in customers right around noon. She’d enjoyed an hour of quiet, but the minute her flat hit the marble of the foyer Podgkins was hopping down her throat about an important client that needed immediate seeing to in her office. 

‘Broody..Rude, but you can’t quip back, one of the oldest accounts we have...’

He kept rambling right behind her until the threshold of her office where she shooed him off and smoothed down the length of her skirt. As if a recent moon hadn’t been enough stress..

Pushing open her door, she was met with the immediate smell of pricey cologne, a scent she couldn’t place but liked none the less. A well worn suit sat poised in her chair, and she took a brief moment to enjoy the pleasant view, before his tone snapped her into reality. 

“My deepest apologies, Sir. I didn’t realize I was taking on a new investment portfolio today. I’ll do my best to make this all as quick and smooth as possible to make up for your lost time. My senior advisor gave me the file, Flint? Is that correct?” She said walking over to place the file on the desk and coming face to face with an insultingly good looking man. Broad shoulders, dark hair, his face was a little more pointed than she normally liked but it worked in his favor. Even if she hadn’t known the name, she would have been able to pin him as a Pureblood. Nearly as much arrogance dripping off of him as he was nice to look at. Giving a smile and extending a hand she went about her own introduction.

“Forgive my manners, my name is Lavender. Lavender Brown, and I’ll be assisting you on your account handlings today, Mr.Flint. How can I be of service?”

Ron hadn’t exactly been looking for love when Lavender had fallen into his grasp. When you were friends with Harry Potter, it was quite easy to fall into the background. In fact, Ron was used to being the friend of the chosen one. He had grown used to passing on messages, loves notes to Harry from girls in their year and other years. No one ever really noticed Ron. He had his jealous moments, but most of the time, he was too busy getting into trouble with Harry and Hermione to think about dating anyone seriously. 

When he joined the Gryffindor quidditch team, it felt like a weird pipe dream. His nerves were thru the roof the first match that they played. In fact, he hadn’t even noticed that Harry hadn’t slipped the lucky potion into his juice. Ron played the best match of his life and it wasn’t because of the potion. It was because he had done good. At the party that night, Ron felt like he was on top of the world. He felt like he was on another level. 

So, when Lavender noticed him, he took notice of her. When she kissed him, he kissed her back. They started dating from that point on. 

The sound of his voice, pricked at her ears, like something sharp on a record or a misfired spell. Normally she had found such comfort in his gaze, in his words, but now facing him, the nauseating awfulness of the entire situation she now found herself in began flooding up into her chest once more. 

He had ruined it. He had taken the perfect technicolor bubble she’d built around all those hopes and dreams of love and shattered it, turned it into a wasteland for her to wade through locked in her dormitory alone. 

She had ruined it. That bushy haired, know-it-all with her pretty smile and doe eyes. Lavender wasn’t blind, she knew Hermione was decent looking,a little unconventional sure but decent none the less. She’d known that her and Ron and Potter all hung around together, but she’d been under the impression that if anything was to or had happened between Hermione and either of the boys in their little trio, it had either already passed or hadn’t been there to begin with by the time she and Ron had gotten together.  

She’d have to have been daft to not have noticed the coldness Hermione showed toward her once their relationship had come to fruition, and by extension Ronald was swept into that same iciness, but Lavender had chosen to see it as a one-sided affair stemming from some sort of backwards feeling the other girl had put on her Ronald. She was mad she wasn’t the one dating the now popular quidditch star that Ron had become, didn’t get to watch him flourish like he should have been doing all along instead of playing a supporting role to either her over sized brain or Harry’s following cloud of chaos. Hermione had sat around him for years and had never made a single move, but then she showed up and suddenly Lavender was some kind of homewrecker. None of it had been warranted or deserved. Ron had chosen her, fair and square, it wasn’t her fault.

 Or at least she had thought it wasn’t. His mumbled whisper of the other girl’s name rang in her ears as clear as if it had just happened all over and every single time her mind replayed it she felt her heart sink just that much further into the ground. Maybe Hermione’s jealousy wasn’t misplaced. Maybe she had had every reason to be cold toward her. Maybe she was just a spot holder. She didn’t want to believe any of those wretched voices in her head but the further she spiraled into her inevitable heartbreak the more things she began to hyper analyze. Had he ever loved her? 

“Are you feeling o-” She stopped herself short and bit hard on her tongue. “We need to talk.” Lavender finally said turning to face his direction fully, but not meeting his eyes. She could see the sway in his walk where his injuries were still affecting him, and a loud portion of her brain cried out to just ignore the whisper and go back to being the doting significant other she had so enjoyed being and longed to be once more. But his hands still felt like stinging nettles, hot on her arm before she jerked away from the contact.  No. She couldn’t be weak. 

“We’d better find somewhere quiet, I don’t need anyone else to hear how royally mussed this all is. I need answers, Ronald.”
